There’s a difference between transactional and reciprocal, but both come with expectations. You want something back. Respect. Support. Loyalty. Peace. Money.

Transactional is instant. Reciprocal is built over time.

In life, you’re expected to show up. Not always the same way. Not always at the same level. But with effort. With presence. With intention.

You don’t have to be perfect. But you should pour into the people and spaces that pour into you. Mentally. Spiritually. Emotionally. Financially. Through support, perspective, opportunity, and sometimes money.

That’s how real relationships work. Not balance. Contribution.

The problem isn’t expecting something in return. The problem is staying connected to people and environments that feed you while you give nothing back.

Less is more.

Last year I spent too much time hiring people who sounded good but didn’t know what they were doing. This year I cleaned house and moved forward with only the ones who are actually great.

What I’ve learned about myself is simple: you have to be obsessed to work with me. I don’t clock out mentally. I’ll sit with a problem all day until it’s solved.

That level of drive isn’t for everybody and I’m finally okay with that.
