The US war on Iran is presumably the most stupid war in US history:
1. Trump started it for no good reason, whether to detract from the Epstein files or because he was carried away by Netanyahu. It was a lose-lose war & remains so.
2. Apart from wishful thinking that the Iranian regime would collapse, Trump had no strategy. When the regime did not collapse, Trump had lost.
3. The US has effectively given Iran control of the Strait of Hormus.
4. The US has facilitated Iran's acquisition of nuclear arms out of sheer stupidity.
5. With incredible thoughtlessness, the US has wasted on minor targets its most expensive & important missiles, Tomahawks and Patriots, which cannot be replaced for years.
6. Through its attack on Iran, then US has exposed its Gulf allies & its own bases in the region with little defense.
7. Through his outrageous & unjustified attacks on European allies, Trump has weakened whatever remains of the Western alliance.
Is there any greater enemy of the Western alliance than Trump?

Let me tell you what just got reported, because you will not believe it until you see it laid out.

The Trump administration cut a billion-dollar tungsten deal with Kazakhstan. Tungsten is the metal we need for missile warheads, fighter jets, and computer chips. Trump himself got on the phone to close it. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick worked it from the inside, sending letters, leaning on the Kazakh president, lining up as much as $1.6 billion in federal financing.

Within weeks of those negotiations, investors tied to a firm partly owned by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump took a 20% stake in an entity connected to the very same Kazakhstan project their father was negotiating. Around that same time, Cantor Fitzgerald, the firm run by Lutnick’s own sons, raised $210 million for a partner in the deal and pocketed the fees.

The fathers set the policy. The sons cashed in.

Six days after the Trump sons and their partners moved their money, Lutnick signed the final deal.

The reporting found one or both families have financial ties to at least 14 companies working with the government on critical mining deals.

The total federal funding flowing toward those companies tops $8.9 billion.

This is your tax money.

It is supposed to secure our supply chains and protect our troops, not pad the portfolios of the President’s children and the Commerce Secretary’s children.

This is the most corrupt administration in American history. It is not close.

We must keep digging, and keep asking the questions they do not want asked. Republicans in Congress are unwilling to lift a finger. Mike Johnson is running a protection racket.

Either we will end the corruption, or the corruption will be the end of us.

Some thoughts on the new Epstein Files revelations:

I’ve now read everything that’s come out from the new Haberman and Swan book, and the thing I keep coming back to is the Situation Room. They held multiple meetings in the Situation Room about the Epstein files. That room is for war. It’s for national security emergencies. It is not for figuring out how to spin a scandal you’re telling the country is a hoax.

While the President was deflecting or calling this old news, his own Vice President and Chief of Staff were huddled in the most leak-proof room in America because they knew how bad it really was.

You don’t take a nothingburger to the Situation Room.

And I have to be honest, reading all this brings back a lot of frustration about what happened in the House of Representatives. I sat there and watched Mike Johnson send the House home early to dodge a vote on releasing these files. I watched him refuse to swear in a duly elected colleague for months just to stall the discharge petition. Month after month of excuses, arm twisting, and procedural games, all to keep this information from the public. We only got the files because survivors, families, and a handful of members in both parties simply refused to let it go.

So when people ask me why I talk so much about transparency and accountability, this is why. The truth eventually comes out. It always does.

The only question is whether your leaders helped reveal it or helped bury it.

Everyone who voted to keep these files hidden should have to answer for that.

Finally, notice what’s missing from all of this is any sign that Trump’s DOJ will actually investigate the powerful men named in these files.

Draw your own conclusions about why a Justice Department run by the President’s former defense lawyers might not be eager to pull that thread.

I actually have personal knowledge and experience with this. From 2000-2003, I worked as an International Programs Manager at the Army HQ staff in charge of R&D cooperative agreements with Israel and other Middle Eastern countries. I traveled to Israel as part of a Department of Defense delegation in June 2001 to negotiate an MOU to jointly develop the Arrow 2 missile defense system.

But even though the program was 100 percent US funded, Israel refused to share the technology with us. I suspect that they later sold the technology to Communist China as they have done with most other advanced military technology we have shared with them.

With the new NDAA provision that was reported yesterday to integrate the US military with the IDF, we will end up transferring more advanced military technology with them than ever before and it will eventually end up in the PRC.

A MAGA influencer with a massive following has been arrested, and he’s connected to Trump’s inner circle.

Craig Long is someone with hundreds of thousands of followers, moving in big circles, even around Donald Trump and Don Jr.

When you look at this through the lens of criminal cults and conspiracy, it raises serious questions about the kinds of people operating within these networks. I’ve been talking about this in relation to trafficking and influence for a long time, and I have to say, it does not surprise me.

What matters most is supporting the victims as that has to be the priority!

But we also need to think about influence. These are people with large platforms shaping beliefs and trust, and we have to decide what our values are.

For me, I don’t like liars, I don’t like hypocrites, and I certainly don’t want to support anyone who is backing a leader who wants to stay in power indefinitely.

More and more people are starting to question their commitment and beliefs around MAGA.

The sentence that should not be forgettable: Vought said he prepared Trump's executive actions so the president would not have to think about "whether something is legal or doable or moral."

That is not a staffer describing efficient workflow. That is the architect of the second Trump administration describing his function as the removal of legal and ethical friction before the president encountered it.

He was not hired to consider whether actions were legal. He was hired to make sure Trump never had to ask.
