@shilstone_arts That is just one of Ghibli's films, the first one they made after properly forming the studio. You can't marry anti-AI sentiment to auteur theory. Either it's important to respect artists, or it's okay to reduce them to just a tool of someone else's mystique. You can't do both.

@shilstone_arts Honestly this post feels kinda hollow when it speaks so heavily of respecting artists but in the same breath acts as if the output of Studio Ghibli is the work of Miyazaki alone. More than 100 artists are credited on Castle in the Sky, Hayao Miyazaki is only one of them.

It has that effect FromSoft is now infamous for where the hit is weirdly delayed from when the motion FEELS like it should land causing you to basically "flinch" and react to it too early.
