Im not sure exactly where this is from so can’t credit, but it’s excellent to show the transferable skills that teachers undoubtedly have that many organisations in the private sector want!
I have taught and examined English for 10 years. I planned over 50 lessons, wrote every script and put together this project to make sure every child has the knowledge they need to pass their GCSEs. Please share with students and teachers. https://t.co/QKAfdlG6fk

@Headteacherchat 1 give them more autonomy
2 trust them stop endless checking up ( except if competence concern)
3 look at imaginative ways to support - sabbatical secondment placement 1day 1 week 1 term….
4 stop unnecessary CPD and Inset
5 listen to them
6 pay them a bit better
@WhistleblowingT Saying that you ‘come across as their best friend,’ is too vague. Ask them specifically about the behaviours they have witnessed from you, and what it is exactly that you need to stop doing. Make sure that you’re following the behaviour policy but don’t stop being a nice person.
Was going to write a to-do list in prep for my SENDCO time tomorrow but decided to do a reverse - a “what I’ve already done list”. Amazing for my well-being to see how far I’ve come in 6 weeks 💪🏼♥️ we need to focus on what we have done rather than what’s still to do sometimes!
I wish there was a broader understanding that in order to support children’s wellbeing and mental health, we need to support all adults who are taking care of them. When adults are stressed and dysregulated, how can they hold space for children? We need a community response!
