Kanye made it cool for rap artists to be weirdos. Drake raised the bar for rappers that also sing like Vic Mensa and XXX. With that said, if Mos Def’s “Black On Both Sides” came out today, it would fit right in with this new wave and be huge.

I hope the album is great. I’m a fan. I’ve been a fan since Thank Me Later. I thought Take Care was weak, but I thought NWTS, IYRTITL and Views were incredible. He raised the bar as an artist. You can’t just rap anymore. You have to sing, yodel, etc or labels aren’t interested

God’s Plan isn’t a single from this album. If it doesn’t have that Push response OR any smash hits like Controlla/One Dance, he might be dunzo. The album will still sell of course-but at the same time, if its not high quality, this might be the beginning of the end for the 6 God
