You ever read a book or heard a song so ethereal—so lingering—you had to go hunting for the artist's story? It could not be just talent, the way they bled on those pages; could not be training alone, the waves in their voices. Who did you kill, writer man? What haunts you so bad?
Contrary to the popular narrative, I don't believe that people looking for their biological fathers in adulthood is a mockery of the fathers that raised them. They do it for closure. To put to rest the blanket of self-doubt on their backs. It's not an endorsement of the absconder
"You love fast women
You love keepin' control
Of everything you love, you love beef
You love streets, you love runnin', duckin' police
You love your hood, might even love it to death
But what love got to do with it when you don't love yourself?"
K. Lamar ('Real')
"We could say that no one was meant to get hurt. It was an accident of fate they bruised. And maybe it’s true: but what good is nobility when all it draws is blood? How do we tell malice and accident apart when the scars look the same?"

Try and read this book before you die: Amos Tutuola's "The Palm-Wine Drinkard"
Better than Achebe's "Things Fall Apart," in prose.
I could infer some similarities with Elnathan John's "Born on a Tuesday."
Very funny too. Too many serious books already. Much ado over...
If you want a thing bad enough to go out
and fight for it,
to work day and night for it,
to give up your time, your peace and your sleep for it
if all that you dream and scheme is about it,
and life seems useless and worthless without it...
Dear Universe,
It's a beautiful morning you have birthed today. With the sun so prime and the wind so rhyme. I am not a bad man, nor too good. I do not ask much except hope. If I must chew make it soft: if I must wail, make it short.
Stop telling your colleagues that pay is the same even if they work past 5. Just leave quietly if you're tired. You don't know how long folks stayed without a job to secure that job you take for granted. Just pack your bags & go home. Even if they sleep there, mind your business.
@Wairimuwraps Wairimu,
I tell stories. Funny stories. Sad stories. Stories of food & almost anything I can conjure. And in most cases, if you've observed the pattern, I take accountability. Even in their fictional state. I don't fault anyone for my existence, or lack of it.
Do not price people out of friendship, man. We give according to our capacities. When I have a lot, I contribute a lot; when he has more, he will do more. These stock-taking habits have no place in male friendships.
Got to respect Drake. Homie stood his ground against the whole industry when it was easier to bend and take the beating. You can't teach that kind of resolve. That's why I always rocked with his music. Let him do his thing. Real fans know where to find him...
