Great news! @TransLink have announced the return of the bike bus to @BCFerries Tsawwassen terminal!
Would be great for @Richmond_BC and @CityofDeltaBC to figure out a safe route suitable for all ages and abilities so people have access all year. 620s can’t handle the demand!

🌐 Jour 2 à Windsor : Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par Yasmine Joheir et Didier Marotte au Centre Communautaire Francophone Windsor-Essex-Kent.
🤝 These community leaders discussed programs and support for welcoming immigrants while addressing the challenges faced.
Yesterday, at the Chimczuk Museum, Fellows learned from Elder Theresa Sims, Windsor's inaugural Indigenous storyteller.
Our day concluded with meaningful discussions with @dwccwindsor, @ymca, Unity Hopeful, and members—especially newcomers to Canada and Windsor.
Last Saturday, we concluded our study tour to Windsor with a visit to the Malden Park Observation Area and the Automobility & Innovation Centre of @_investwe
Our heartfelt thanks go to all participants of this journey, with a special acknowledgment to @VIA_Rail.
On a day when tens of thousands of kids in North America get to be kids, children are being held hostage and being killed in Gaza. The UN workers helping kids are being killed too.
Canada and the world is failing our kids.

here's a one-bedroom 13th floor condo, just a couple blocks from surrey central
in 2003, it was sold for $87,000 — which back then, was about 4 times the median income for someone who lived in surrey
today, it was announced it sold again for $495,000
15 times the median income
NEW - BC releases its own “missing middle” plan called “small-scale multi-unit”). Huge changes to local land-use rules, effective June 30, 2024. Allows 3-4 unit buildings on all single family lots in urban areas – 6 units near transit. Could create 130,000 new units over 10 years
BREAKING & HUGE: The British Columbia Govt has announced they’ll be ending Public Hearings for housing rezonings that conform with city-wide plans. They’ll also be over-riding municipal zoning to allow up to 4 homes per lot, and 6 near transit, across BC. https://t.co/O5FXSlZFAy
This Bill would legalize secondary suites or laneway homes across B.C. and ensure we get more housing options in existing communities. 🙌🏾
Our Secondary Suite Incentive Program will provide forgivable loans to homeowners to build additional below-market rental suites. 🧵 [3/5]
This legislation will allow as of right:
✅ 3 units on smaller lots. 👨👩👧👦
✅ 4 units on larger lots. 🏗️
✅ 6 units near bus stops with frequent service. 🚌🚏
Economists project this policy will lead to a net addition of 130,000 homes in B.C. over 10 years!

Yesterday, I heard from a number of people that they want more trick-or-treaters in their neighbourhoods. 🎃
Today, we tabled legislation that will do just that - create more homes within reach for young families by building more housing in existing communities. 🏡
