Morale should always be a priority of every leader. When people feel valued, supported, appreciated, and that their strengths are being utilized, it improves engagement, job satisfaction, and overall sense of well being.

Let’s stop telling teachers to do yoga and meditate (UNLESS that’s what they want and choose to do). Instead, let’s advocate for making teaching a sustainable career!
School districts, if you are dealing with high attrition and turnover, remember that teachers/ staff rarely leave a job where they feel valued, supported, appreciated and treated like professionals.
Admin, try to make these your DAILY 5:
* Be the thermostat of positive culture
* Be accountable to your teachers
* Be selfless: serving teachers is leadership
* Be available: in the hallways, bus stop, classroom, cafeteria
* Be the CHEER-leader. Praise for staff!

It's not just students who need affirmation, but all the adults in the building need it as well. Encourage and lean on each other. Strength is in team!
