From Voto Latino President & CEO María Teresa Kumar: ICE is operating with reckless power and zero accountability. This isn’t public safety—it’s harm.

@BennieGThompson "People need to see what ICE and CBP are doing to Americans."
Marimar Martinez is a U.S. citizen. She was shot five times by federal agents during an enforcement operation in Chicago.
Our communities should not have to live in fear of violence when they leave their homes.
#OTD, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill to enact the Civil Rights Act of 1964, outlawing discrimination based on race, sex, religion, or national origin. What did it take to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964? More on our searchable museum: https://t.co/aBgPAwFtsd
“If the murder of Alex Pretti…cannot be called murder, an authoritarian regime has passed one of its crucial tests: it can reverse all meanings…making the victim the perpetrator, the perpetrator the victim.” —@fotoole https://t.co/XBWHEqIoLq
New: As federal immigration agents surge into communities and detain people, the number of habeas petitions — claims challenging those detentions — has increased. We are tracking the historic rise in these cases, which are overwhelming the court system. https://t.co/csXGwDPHcx
As I wrote, if you think a massive US gulag is being built just for illegal immigrants, along with a federal paramilitary force as large as the Marines, you're a fool. Billions in unaccountable cash from Venezuelan oil, shock troops, and detention camps. This is not a drill.
Trump and his family have gained over $4 billion by using the White House as their own personal grift machine.
Meanwhile, many working families are choosing between paying for health insurance, groceries, or rent.
It’s corruption, plain and simple.

“I miss my school and my friends…”
Heartbreaking words from 9-year-old Susej who has been detained for 50 days.
Children belong in schools, not detention centers.
Sec. Noem has blocked Congress, ignored court orders, and overseen the killing of U.S. citizens.
TODAY is the Day of Action. Flood the phones: Demand a vote on Rep. Robin Kelly’s H.Res.996 to impeach Kristi Noem immediately. https://t.co/DRgsdKsHec #ImpechNoemNow
A 9 year old from Colombia came on a tourist visa to visit her mom in NY.
Detained for 113 days as of this letter.
ice used me to catch my mom and now I am in a jail.”
“I felt that being here was my fault and I only wanted to be on vacation like a normal family.”
9-year-old Maria Antonia was detained on her way to Disney World.
What was supposed to be a 10-day dream vacation turned into a 100-day nightmare at Dilley.
“When I arrived every night I cried. … I felt that being here was my fault,” she wrote.

I've heard directly from hundreds of children at Dilley. One young girl who shared her story with me grew up in the United States and her stepfather is a U.S. citizen. She said that the guards are mean to her, she is afraid, and that she is worried she will die in detention. She has been in Dilley for over 120 days. Her and Liam’s stories are one of thousands. What the Trump admin is doing to our children is depraved and unconscionable. Dilley must close. #FreeOurChildren

Since it reopened in March 2025, the ICE family detention center in Dilley, Texas, has held around 3,500 people, more than half of them children.
As reports of contaminated food and the spread of measles have made national headlines, ProPublica spoke with two dozen detainees about the treatment of minors inside.

New polling finds 65% of Americans and 70% of Latinos say ICE has gone too far in immigration enforcement, up 11 points from last summer. A majority also say the agency is making communities less safe. Congress must reflect the public and provide oversight.https://t.co/9x6b6gsWjy
Se llama María Elvira. Se apellida Salazar.

Pero dice: español no. America First.
Hipocresía, en el idioma lo pongas.
Wait till (US) Americans discover that Columbus “discovered America” without ever setting foot in any piece of land that eventually became the continental US. But he did set foot in the island that is today Puerto Rico
