When four-year-old Daniel’s preschool class was asked to bring in something they were thankful for, most of the children chose a favorite toy or another special possession.
Daniel had something else in mind.
He went home and asked his mother, Stephanie DeRoss, if he could bring his two-year-old sister, Sophia.
“Do you think I could bring Soph?”
Stephanie loved the idea, but she wasn’t sure the school would allow a toddler to come in for show-and-tell. She messaged Daniel’s teacher expecting a no.
The teacher said yes.
So on the day of the presentation, Daniel arrived at preschool with Sophia beside him.
He sat with his little sister in front of the class and proudly introduced her to everyone. His classmates raised their hands with questions, and Daniel answered them, telling them little things about Sophia and their life together.
He told them Sophia’s favorite food was yogurt. He explained that they liked playing with cars together and even admitted that both of them loved sleeping in their mother’s bed.
Then, sitting in front of his classmates, Daniel pulled his little sister into a hug.
Stephanie filmed the moment from the classroom. She later said she cried the entire time she was recording.
Daniel and Sophia had always been close. Their mother said they hated being separated, and Sophia would sometimes become upset at school drop-off when she realized her brother was staying behind. Daniel, meanwhile, loved being her protector and would defend her whenever he got the chance.
Stephanie later shared the video set to ABBA’s “Slipping Through My Fingers,” writing, “Rich in life cause I’m their mom.”
Daniel had been asked to bring something he was thankful for.
At four years old, he already knew his answer wasn’t something he owned.
It was his little sister.

DENVER — Truly incredible video shows a douchebag hyping ICE, using a homophobic slur, then falling twice on his own face and getting laughed at during yesterday's NO KINGS rally.
hes so fucking embarrassing, he's never prepared for any of these, he just walks in blind and wings it.
he'd obviously never seen the word "acetaminophen" until yesterday, he couldn't read or say it, at HIS press conference that HE called, specifically to talk about acetaminophen.
every meeting and speech is like this; he's obviously not been briefed, he's done no work, he just rambles about whatever, then insults a few people, then he compliments himself, and then 5 hours of golf.
We can sum all this up in 1 Kendrick Lamar verse. From America, The President, Gun violence, the media etc
“You overnight the big rifles, then tell Fox to be scared of us
Gang members or terrorists
et cetera, et cetera
America's reflections of me, that's what a mirror does”
