Regarding the interpreter from Right Side ASL. The main complaint I'm receiving is that a person's ideology has no bearing on their work. If their work is good, then what's the problem. I feel this argument profoundly misunderstands the kind of work interpreters do

@AudreyTerp @SilentSnerk @bj2048 @jmhenner I’d also argue that interpreters *shouldn’t* interpret things they don’t inherently disagree with if it’s possible to avoid. Considering we are supposed to avoid conflicts of interest that may cause harm or effectiveness (CPC tenant 3.8).

@jahochcam @arikaokrent Omg. Being a left handed learner was such a topic of discussion for my teachers. “Oh. You’re left handed- you sign it like this” EVERY DAYYY. For me it was always trying to figure out the movements and placements of things- converting them from right handed to my dominant hand.
