@manurodramos No. It covers TV reporting too. Legally, authorities decide, especially with Spanish media, seen here as propaganda. Politicaly, and that’s important, 2M was entering what Morocco considers Moroccan soil. There’s a clear symmetry: Spain banned 2M, Morocco responded.

@manurodramos Spanish authorities didn’t cite anything neither about 2M. Correspondants have accreditations but authorities can decide on detailed permissions, like location, or filming permission for security reasons. For filming there is a separate procedure in Morocco (see attached).

@manurodramos The 2M crew had Schengen visas. They were public journalists doing their jobs. Vice versa, If you apply the same logic, the Spanish media didn’t have permits to film in that area in Morocco. Don’t have double freedom and morale standards. Nothing here to learn from Spain.

The National Union of the Moroccan Press (SNPM) denounced authorities’ refusal to allow a 2M television crew into Ceuta to cover ongoing events.

The union described the move as ''a restriction on press freedom and journalists’ right to access information'', and called on Spanish authorities to end such restrictions.

It also urged international, African and Arab press organizations to support Moroccan journalists and stand in solidarity with them in defense of press freedom.
