Some of the most successful people in life will be those that are on a team that is not doing well, but when you turn the film on they are giving 100% at all times.
Our middle school football team wrapped up the Smyth County Championship (first time in many years) last night and are 3-0 to start the season. The future here at Marion is very bright!
Greatness isn’t built in a day. It’s built one step, one decision and one day at a time.
1% better. Every day. Don’t give up.
You are loved by God, created with purpose and capable of more than you know.

FACT:
If you don’t strength train in-season you’re 5.5x more likely to suffer an injury
A 10% increase in strength training volume is linked to an additional ~4 percentage point drop in injury risk
Bottom line… if you want to stay healthy:
LIFT IN-SEASON
Why do we lift on gameday?
Post Action Potentiation. The idea of doing an explosive movement to “prime” the Central Nervous System to perform optimally before the main event. Research support shows effects can last up to several hours after the explosive training.
One of my favorite traditions of our fall camp is senior speeches.
Every senior stands in front of the team and shares their story. They include these things at minimum...
1. What they've learned.
2. Who helped them get there.
3. One piece of advice they wish they'd heard as a freshman.
4. The commitment they're making to this team.
5. The legacy they hope to leave behind.
For a few minutes, the helmets come off and the leadership takes over.
Years from now, our players probably won't remember every practice from camp. I hope they'll remember those speeches.
