I just listened to the interview Senator Shehu Buba granted that was supposed to be his defense, it just made me more furious.

He didn't address anything, the only thing he said was if the boy knows he is innocent, he should come back to Nigeria and file a complaint with relevant authorities.

Sheikh Aliyu Ibrahim Kaduna really should know better. You can’t defend allegations by dragging Christians, Igbos or anyone’s religion and ethnicity into it.

If the allegations against Sen. Shehu Buba are false, address the facts and prove them wrong. It’s that simple. Whether Hassan is Igbo, Fulani, Muslim or Christian has nothing to do with whether the allegations are true.

This kind of rhetoric is not religious leadership. It is a needless attempt to turn an accountability issue into an ethnic and religious fight and that is irresponsible and dangerous.
