Congress needs to:
- Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines
- Strengthen background checks
- Enact safe storage laws and red flag laws
- Repeal gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability
We can’t fail the American people again.
If anyone can think of any reason for a civilian to have either an assault weapon or a high capacity magazine, does the reason compare with keeping our children safer? Of course not. Ban them both. Right now.
I believe in science, I believe in common-sense gun safety, and I know that we can’t let the NRA or the filibuster stop us from protecting our people.

Nowhere is safe — not even our hospitals, our places to heal from gun violence.

Texas Gov. Abbott says the Uvalde school shooter had a "mental health challenge" and the state needed to "do a better job with mental health" — yet in April he slashed $211M from the department that oversees mental health programs. https://t.co/GdqKncigxQ
The vast majority of Americans, including most gun owners, support basic gun safety measures. We must break the NRA’s stranglehold & end the filibuster so Washington can finally act to prevent mass shootings & daily violence—from schools & homes to streets & playgrounds.
