The last day is always tough. We build these tiny communities that feel like families. We pour love and patience into them. We watch them grow. Then we send them on, hoping that they will keep growing into the amazing humans we know they can be.
@camote123216197@CP24 Teachers are leaving by the bunch… many new teachers turn the other way when reality hits them…others are retiring before they get sick….I’m stomaching it…but many are not….
@thismomloves@thinkSRSD This will be great for my grade 3’s! No joke, this is where we are at….I too am scribing for more than a few, they’re copying, for some I have to prompt ideas…
@natabasso A veteran teacher once told me something kinda crass but the most true thing I’ve ever heard about education,
Being a teacher is like being a sex worker. The better you are it, the more you get f*cked.
I often tell my #OntEd colleagues, “you are enough”.
But here’s the thing…
I truly am not enough.
I cannot give enough or do enough, to meet all of the needs of the children in my care.
I am only one person.
I am simply not enough.
And this keeps me up at night.
@breakfasttv Love the hire more “supports” and “mental health” propaganda, also a lie….I’m sure parents would also be on board with smaller class sizes, who wouldn’t for the best of their children? 🤦🏻♀️
