life irl has been so wonderful lately, and the better it gets, the bigger a bastard i am on here.
i am much friendlier and considerate now irl, but somehow more of an utterly insensitive egomaniac on twitter. baffling
that being said, the exaggerated hypothetical “all 11 could be rapists and i’d still root for them” was inflammatory and insensitive. i shouldn’t have said that.
i dont have politics so atomised that the political significance i glean from this decadent spectacle of FIFA capital is determined either by the progressivism of millionaire athletes or by the fact that one’s a rapist.
if i am to derive any political meaning or any personal joy from this cup, it’ll be from the cheers of millions in their homes and at town squares across africa celebrating a victory or even a hard-fought draw against those who colonised them.
@priyatonin the spectacle of a nation and a people of many millions so ravaged defeating their colonial masters, symbolic as it is, matters more. all 11 could be rapists and i’d still root for the ghanaian people
Majority of the people tweeting about the world cup right now have literally never tweeted about football or watched a match in their lives ever like THIS is true larping
cristiano brace? i drive home at ninety fucking kilometers an hour to get home to this shit? what the fuck? fuck him. fuck me. not watchign it. get out. siuuu up my ass. twat
