As a Turkish medical student, I’ve been hearing the same question from friends and colleagues for a long time: “Will AI replace doctors? Won’t we need doctors anymore?” Just now, while reading your article, I came across a sentence that perfectly reflects my thoughts:
“We need to build the incentives, guardrails, and institutions required to guide AI in a direction that complements humans and benefits society.”
I completely agree with this perspective. Instead of seeing AI as something that competes with people in every profession, we should see it as a tool that complements human abilities and creates value for society. With the right safety mechanisms, regulations, and institutions, this approach should be integrated into every aspect of our lives.
Why did I sign this statement?
First, I had a hand in revising it, after the organizers reached out to me. I did not feel like I could sign the initial version, but I felt that finding a statement that would reflect the overlapping views of a number of AI researchers, economists, and social scientists was important.
Second, I agree with much of the revised text. Indeed, there is a possibility (or perhaps more than a possibility) that AI may become more powerful over the next 10 years. I’m still not convinced that we are going to see the very large productivity gains that industry insiders are predicting. But more powerful AI may (again no certainty, just may) lead to significant job displacement. This is a big economic and social risk.
It could also have myriad consequences on human cognition, starting with K-12 and all the way to advanced science. Some of these consequences are good, some of them are dangerous.
Third, while I do not like the comparison to the Industrial Revolution that much (feels like comparing apples to oranges to me), it is true that AI will have complex effects on the economy.
Finally and most importantly, I wholeheartedly agree with the ending: “to build the incentives, guardrails, and institutions needed to steer AI in a direction that complements humans and benefits society.”
This is what I have been arguing for over a decade now. Good AI needs to complement humans, and this requires a redirection, because the current focus on AGI is, in all but name, an agenda for displacing humans from meaningful work. That’s why steering AI must be a first priority.
I’m happy that many thought leaders have agreed.
FURIA has been here before. In late 2025, they went on an incredible run, winning multiple tier-1 events and making a deep Major playoff run.
Now they’re given just a 7% chance to become champions. If history repeats itself and FURIA returns to that level… my FURIA investment could finally pay off in a big way. 🚀📈
Today I hit a 142x and pocketed $28. I'm adding it to my Malta vacation fund. Maybe I'll be there this August. 😄

It's only been a short time since Premier Season 5 started in Counter-Strike 2, yet Valve still doesn't seem to care about cheaters or bots. Cheaters have reached a point where they barely let anyone else play the game, and I'm sharing my match statistics to show just how bad the situation has become. It's genuinely at a level that can make people lose interest in both the game and even gaming itself.
On top of that, players are dealing with Armory farming bots and an oversupply of Armory items because the Armory stays available for too long and can be purchased repeatedly. Unlike previous Operations, it doesn't offer the same long-term value—only some short-term profit.
None of these issues seem to matter to Valve. More than ever before, I believe Counter-Strike 2 is slowly dying.

The long-awaited Armory update has finally been released. Economically, the older collections have only seen a very small increase in the market so far because, as I said before, the supply is simply too high and there isn’t enough demand to push prices up.
I believe this was intentional. The reason they delayed it for three months was to get impatient farmers to spend as many stars as possible. They gave us new collections to keep everyone occupied until the next season.
As for me, I’m no longer interested in Armory. Cases and collections that could eventually be removed from the game now look much more attractive. It’s been a disappointing process, but every journey is a learning experience.

My KSCERATO Holo Budapest 2025 stickers are up 5x already. Do you think this is enough, or should I keep holding until they reach $5? 🤔

Before the Armory update, I made what might be one of my final purchases, and I wanted to share it with you so we can look back on it together in the future.
I bought 36 Factory New UMP-45 | Late Night Transit skins for $270, at an average price of $7.49 each. My plan is to hold until the floor price at least doubles before I consider selling.
Do you think this is a good investment, or should I just forget about them for a long time?

With Season 5 seemingly just around the corner, it looks like the Armory update Valve has kept us waiting 76 days for is finally inevitable. But honestly, I don’t think it means much anymore.
The CS2 market doesn’t feel like a market anymore.
The only people consistently making money from the Armory are the farmers. The rest of us are just buying the items they keep flooding into the market.
Whether Valve can’t stop the bots or simply doesn’t care, the result is the same: supply has completely overwhelmed demand. Prices are no longer driven by a healthy market.
Cases and capsules are slowly losing value too, and after 10 years of trading, I honestly think this is where my journey ends.
Am I the only one who feels like the CS2 economy is slowly dying?

I currently own 10,000 FURIA Glitter stickers, each worth about $0.15. My goal is to hold them until they reach $1 each, so I can buy my sister a car. You might be surprised, but in Turkey, $10,000 is enough to buy a car. #CS2#CSGO
