"Nothing happened" has become one of the laziest critiques a person can make of an episode. Not every hour of television needs a dragon battle to move the story forward. Episode 5 advanced multiple character arcs, shifted political dynamics, gave us fantastic dialogue in the classic Game of Thrones fashion, included some wonderful historical callbacks, and laid the groundwork for what's to come. That's the entire point of a slow burn.

There's been a real decline in both media literacy and attention spans, and it's sad to see how far so much of the fandom has fallen. Too many people seem to need constant stimulation, and if there isn't action every few minutes, they dismiss an episode as "boring"

If your only metric for a good episode is action, we probably won't agree on much else, and that's okay. My Twitter dungeons have plent of room. I hope some of you bring those takes into my comments. It's been a while since my timeline had a proper cleanup.
