@elonmusk This is the result of attempting to micromanage public schools from the State and Federal Government. Public schools have duly elected representatives invested in providing the best education possible for the students in our communities. #txed#publiced
Reason for Texas Independence?
Public Education!
Happy Texas Independence Day, everybody!
Best way to celebrate it?
VOTE pro-#txed candidates on March 5!
I love when elected officials are honest, even when I disagree. This honesty should be the centerpiece of their election campaigns. They should visit every community, school board meeting, and home football game etc and set up shop denouncing everyone who works and attends the schools. Don’t mince words at the Friday night Game or Band Competition. Tell every employee and parent they are a socialists and hurting kids. Go all in if that is what you say on twitter. Make sure everyone knows your view.
I’ve voted R all my life, and avoided any political posts on Twitter until I observed in Spring 2023 that vouchers were being tied to teacher pay/school funding/safety, and that paid lobbyists and some in #txlege were now denigrating educators. This was only done because voucher support is weak. Separate the issues. Time to move on. If people really want vouchers then they will primary out the remaining opposition. Everyone now knows who is on the side of #publiced so voting will be easier.
“When setting expectations, no matter what has been said or written, if substandard performance is accepted and no one is held accountable – if there are no consequences - that poor performance becomes the new standard.”

The more I learn about the legislative session, the more disappointed I am with @CreightonForTX leadership of #txed
• $4 billion set aside for school funding/teacher compensation, but NO legislation for that funding
• Teacher funding = None
@CreightonForTX We see what you did here @CreightonForTX! Holding public #txed students hostage for your private school funds!!! Atleast we all know exactly what you stand for!
Must watch:
Rep @Bailesfortx speaks against allowing the Texas House Public Education Committee to meet tonight to vote on a school voucher bill that didn't receive a hearing. The House sided with him 76 to 65. Video via @legetv https://t.co/IxxJCZSezc

Vouchers will fail in TX, once again, for many reasons.
But the main reason is the immoral, deceitful, end-justifies-the-means, lying double-speak the voucher people spout.
All their gobbledegook boils down to this:
You subsidize their affluent private schools.

The oligarchy helped finance Trump. In return, they got richer with lower taxes.
Even though Trump is gone, the oligarchs continue to siphon off the economy's gains while the GOP uses culture wars to keep us divided and distracted.
Pay attention. They're playing us.
Giving 350K Texas #teachers a $5K raise would cost an estimated $1.75B. Texas has a historic $33B surplus. TX pays $8K below the US average. #txlege should prioritize investing in teacher pay. Wasn’t a $10K raise promised before the last session? #txed#edchat#investinthefuture
@karinchenoweth@pastors4txkids Here’s the deal. 7 years ago the state paid for almost 50% of the budget for all public schools in Texas. Now that number hovers around 27%. That is why we pay skyrocketing property taxes now.
The problem is not people being uneducated.
The problem is that people are educated just enough to believe what they have been taught, and not educated enough to question anything from what they have been taught. 🧠
@pastors4txkids@GregAbbott_TX@DanPatrick This ruling is very disturbing! In a time when we need to be uniting our country, and better understanding one another regardless of race or creed, segregating our children is NOT the answer!
