@jeffwardshow teams used to stay at the Marriott in RR when they played Texas. My dad used to walk over and hang out in the lobby watching walk throughs. Leach had the team in the parking lot for practice. Normal 2 night stays.

@jeffwardshow I’ve been involved in select baseball for over 15 years. My 3rd Daughter played soccer all the way through. Just look at the fields available. There are way more soccer fields than any other sport in the country. That tells you a lot.

@jeffwardshow former groundskeeper here, it would be very difficult to grow grass in Jerry’s place. If you can’t roll it out when not in use, it’s impossible. Concerts, rally’s, etc. It would be WAY too expensive for teams. Millions more per year for grass. Way less dangerous.

@jeffwardshow soccer talk last week was only lifted by Trey. You called it early on… Defense wins, controlling the ball wins, playing like a thug does not win. Watching the game inside the game became very interesting. Winning lose balls, reattacking, keeping possession.

@jeffwardshow All of these players play on some of the best surfaces in the world across the world. I am surprised we have not heard more about the surfaces. They cannot be near as good as like Chelsea for example. They are way ahead in agronomy. Impressive over there.

Former groundskeeper. Soccer- water is for the ball to stay higher on the grass, skidding so to speak. Never before a football game unless a coach wants to slow down opponents.
