Your LDL cholesterol came back normal… so why could you still be at risk for a heart attack? 🫀🚨

Here is the catch: a standard cholesterol test only measures the total weight (cargo) of cholesterol in your blood, NOT the actual number of physical particles clogging your arteries.

That’s where ApoB (Apolipoprotein B) comes in:
🚚 LDL-C: Measures total cholesterol cargo weight.
🚛 ApoB: Counts the actual number of particle "trucks" carrying that cargo.

If you have:
• Insulin resistance
• Metabolic syndrome
• Type 2 diabetes
• Or take GLP-1 medications (like semaglutide or tirzepatide)

...your standard LDL can look completely normal, while your ApoB particle count is dangerously high!

💡 An ApoB test is an accurate predictor of cardiovascular risk, and costs around $18 at Quest Diagnostics (plus a ~$10 lab fee) if paid out-of-pocket.

Don’t let a normal LDL give you a false sense of security. At Text2MD, we look at the full metabolic picture.

👉 Ask your doctor for an ApoB test or start your consultation at https://t.co/Hb1jhmVZfd today!

That stuff being sold online as “Reta”? Do you even know what’s inside the vial?

A recent study published in JAMA Network Open analyzed self-reported symptoms among more than 7,800 Reddit users discussing retatrutide use.

Here’s the problem: Researchers could NOT verify whether these individuals were actually injecting retatrutide.

No independent confirmation of drug identity, purity, dosage, or sterility.

Could some products contain bacterial endotoxins, chemical impurities, or other contaminants? Absolutely possible. But without laboratory testing, nobody can establish what was actually injected.

Buying something labeled “Reta” does NOT guarantee you’re receiving retatrutide.

You’re not just gambling with effectiveness. You’re gambling with what enters your bloodstream.

[Bryan Johnson @bryan_johnson]

Your peptides may be coming fentanyl suppliers.

Anhui Renchen Technology was indicted in 2023 for supplying the Sinaloa Cartel with fentanyl precursors.

Their website currently sells semaglutide and melanotan II.

Of roughly 200 Chinese firms TRM Labs tracked selling fentanyl precursors, at least 50 now sell peptides.

The shipments enter the US in “master cartons” mislabelled as snack food, broken up by a domestic handler and mailed on. CBP has intercepted around 400 of those operations and seized over 130,000 vials in the past year.

FDA records surfaced showing two deaths, one in July and one in September, reported after people injected untested black market retatrutide.

[Text2MD @Text2MD]

That stuff they call “Reta” is NOT even retaturtide is most likely a combination of semaglutide, tirzepatide, black mold, insect particles and heavy metal. A recent Jama article monitoring side effects from Reditt post identified over 7,800 side effects from this stuff. It resemble mostly endotoxin, micotoxin and probable heavy metal side effects.

Normal glucose? That might not be the whole story. 🩸📊

It's easy to look at a single line on your lab report—like a normal fasting glucose level of 94 mg/dL—and assume your metabolic health is perfect. But one normal lab result can easily mask underlying metabolic risks.

Looking at the full picture:
🟡 A1c (5.8%): Creeping up into prediabetes territory.
🟠 Triglycerides (210 mg/dL): Elevated.
🔵 HDL (38 mg/dL): Below ideal levels.
🔴 Blood Pressure (134/86 mmHg): Above recommended guidelines.

The takeaway:
One lab result is just a snapshot; patterns over time tell the true story. Regularly tracking metabolic trends allows for early intervention before small shifts become bigger health concerns.

TEST. UNDERSTAND. FOLLOW UP. 🩺

Menopause treatment just changed. 🚨🌸

For years, women have been told to "just push through" hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, and mood swings. But that mindset is officially outdated.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recently released updated recommendations, giving a strong recommendation for hormone therapy to help manage menopause-related symptoms.

Key Takeaways:
❌ Hormone therapy isn't one-size-fits-all: It depends on your age, medical history, and risk factors.
🩺 Real medical care matters: This requires a genuine conversation with a physician—not a quick app questionnaire.
✨ You have options: Whether hormonal or non-hormonal, relief is available.

If you've been told to just live with the symptoms, it’s time to consult a doctor who will evaluate your individual needs.

GLP-1 pills are trending across social media, but are oral options actually better than injectable semaglutide or tirzepatide? 💊💉

Here is what the clinical trial data shows on average weight loss:
• Lilly Pill (Orforglipron): 12.4%
• Semaglutide Pill: 16.6%
• Semaglutide Injection: 16.9%
• Tirzepatide Injection: 22.5%

Additionally, oral semaglutide has a low absorption rate (~1%) and strict daily fasting rules.

When choosing a GLP-1 treatment, don't rely on trends. Let a board-certified physician guide your decision based on your body and goals!

Do you know where your GLP-1 supply actually comes from? 🚨

Under FDA Import Alert 66-40, federal inspectors examined overseas facilities producing raw ingredients for compounded GLP-1s and uncovered severe red flags:
❌ Black mold in production areas
❌ Active insect infestations
❌ Sourcing and quality control records that didn't add up
These facilities are now flagged, and their shipments are being blocked at the border.

Buying cheap, unverified GLP-1s online from anonymous vendors exposes you to unvetted ingredients, dosing mistakes, and severe contamination risks.

Ask your provider: Can you identify the exact manufacturer and provide quality documentation for my medication? If they can't answer, that's your sign to walk away.

Does your body throw away protein past 30g per meal? 🥩

Short answer: No, your body doesn't throw away gram #31👇

1. Absorption vs. Muscle Response: Your gut absorbs protein effectively beyond 30g. While muscle building signals (MPS) might plateau per sitting, digestion continues normally.

2. Context Matters: Total daily intake, body mass, training intensity, and age all dictate how much protein your body utilizes.

3. The Takeaway: 30g per meal is a great benchmark target—not a rigid biological wall.

The supplement aisle isn't healthcare. It's a sales floor and a minefield.

Stop buying another bottle every time your weight loss stalls! 🛑

Most "fat burners" and "metabolism boosters" on store shelves come with exaggerated claims, zero real scientific evidence, and potential health risks.

If your progress has plateaued, the answer isn't another over-the-counter pill. It’s having a board-certified physician look at:
🩺 Your blood work & labs
🩺 Your medication dosage
🩺 Your actual metabolism Stop guessing. Start treating your body like real medicine.

⚠️ Two deaths have recently been reported to the FDA connected to bootleg weight-loss drugs sold online—specifically knockoff versions of Retatrutide, known on the internet as "RETA".

Retatrutide is an unapproved medication still in clinical trials and years away from official FDA approval. Despite this, unregulated factories and online vendors with zero medical training are selling bootleg vials across the internet.

Independent tests by pharmaceutical manufacturers revealed that these knockoffs often contain incorrect doses, missing ingredients, or dangerous contaminants—including heavy metals like cadmium, mercury, and lead. Buying unverified research peptides isn't just a side effect risk; it’s Russian roulette.

While legitimate GLP-1 and triple-agonist medications show immense potential for metabolic, cardiovascular, and liver health, those benefits only apply to real, pharmaceutical-grade medications administered under medical supervision.

Saving a few dollars on an anonymous vial online isn't a shortcut to a longer lifespan—it's how you lose the one you have. If you are serious about your health, always consult a board-certified physician, not a salesman. 🏥

How to transition off GLP-1s successfully:
1️⃣ Stabilize your weight for a few months first.
2️⃣ Extend dosing intervals (every 2 weeks or monthly) or transition to a microdose.

If you want to live longer, start with these 5 numbers! 📊

Your biological age app isn't the metric you should focus on first. True longevity starts with the "boring basics"—not expensive biohacks.

The 5 Core Numbers That Actually Matter:
1️⃣ Blood Pressure: A quiet risk factor that is well worth treating early.
2️⃣ LDL / ApoB: Atherogenic particles drive long-term cardiovascular health.
3️⃣ Glucose / A1C: Unmanaged metabolic damage accumulates over time.
4️⃣ Waist Circumference: Central visceral fat matters far more than the number on the scale.
5️⃣ Cardiorespiratory Fitness: Directly predicts your functional independence and physical resilience as you age.

Measure what matters. Improve what you can change.

A nutrition label that says “25g of protein” doesn’t tell you the whole story. 🏋️‍♂️🥤

When it comes to building muscle, preserving lean mass during weight loss, or hitting your daily targets, protein quality matters.

Here’s the breakdown:

️ Whey Protein
• Complete amino-acid profile
• Rich in leucine (key for muscle synthesis)
• Fast-digesting for most people

🌱 Plant Protein
• Highly effective, especially plant-blend powders
• Great for dairy sensitivities or vegan lifestyles
• May require a slightly larger serving to match whey’s leucine content

Bottom line: What actually matters isn't just whey vs. plant—it's your total daily intake, amino-acid profile, leucine content, and digestibility. The best protein powder is the one you can digest well and take consistently!
