@Ilya_Outcast Russia has no land connection to Moldova so it cannot wage war there. Fully occupying Georgia would not change much for Russia, while controling Ukraine would be a large step towards restoring Russia's global influence and power. Ukraine is the bridge to central europe.

@Ilya_Outcast because they agreed to a ceasefire and it was too painful for both sides to restart the war. Ukraine is willing to do this too but russia refuses and states they want full control of all 4 oblasts. It would require immense trust to hand over the oblasts, its simply not realistic

It's not about Russia invading other countries, it's about Russia attacking Ukraine again. Letting them have Crimea and the land they occupy in eastern Ukraine is already a huge concession.
