🔈Please turn sound on🔈 It may have taken a little longer than we thought to post this, but finally we have a chance to say thank you to everyone who helped, supported and / or visited us over the years. We really do appreciate everything you’ve done for us! Our time as... (1/3)
...engineers here may have come to an end but the engine still has a lot of life left in it. As we bid a fond farewell to our beloved engine we want to thank you all one last time and say a final goodbye to you all from the former Trencherfield Mill Engineering Team. (2/3)
@aohereng That was it. - Just a short clip at the beginning of the program. - We’re just happy to get a mention though and we’re made up they got the full name in!

Very sad to hear that 'Bill the Mill' has been made redundant.
He was a marvellous ambassador and knowledgeable guide when I was invited to take images of the engine this year for a Wigan and Leigh Hospice project.
Best wishes for the future, Bill!
❄ We are now taking our Christmas holidays ❄
The Trencherfield Mill Steam engine will therefore be temporarily closed during the festive period.
We will have some important news and updates on the way shortly so stay tuned!
Well that’s it for another year!
Thank you to everyone who has visited us and who’s supported us over the last year, we really do appreciate it. - Without you we really couldn’t do what we do.
We hope you all have a Happy Christmas and New Year, all the best!
The TFM Engineers
Just a quick reminder, tomorrow is our last Steaming Sunday of the year. - This is the last engine run for quite a while. - To avoid disappointment / missing out make sure to visit us this Sunday at 1pm!
IMPORTANT! - Sunday will be our last Steaming Sunday this year. If you’re planning to visit us when we’re running our engine this will be your last chance for quite a while. Don’t miss out! - It might even make a great present for someone. Hopefully we’ll see you on Sunday at 1pm
Don’t forget today is our penultimate Steaming Sunday for the year. - As usual you will be treated to our fascinating talk and audio/visual presentation before getting your chance to witness the engine come to life. - Don’t miss out, join us at 1pm! (It’ll be warmer than outside)
This Sunday is our penultimate engine run for the year. - Don’t miss out on your opportunity to witness our magnificent engine come to life, as it has done for the last 110 years! Join us this Sunday at 1pm for an experience you won’t soon forget.
In addition to marking Armistice Day we will also be running the engine at 1pm. - There will be no 11am tour due to the Armistice Day whistle sounding and the engine prep required ahead of the run. -This is 1 of just 3 runs left this year. Don’t miss out, come down and see us!
We’ll be marking the two minute silence on Armistice Day this Sunday as usual. - This year is especially important as it marks the 100th anniversary of the First World War ending. - Please join us in showing respect & gratitude for the amazing people who gave everything for us.
@Yam1300sp To be fair the algorithm that calculates this includes Tyldesley and Appley Bridge so in reality we might be a little further up than that. - It’d be nice to be higher but we’re appreciative of where we are now. Perhaps we just need to promote the reviews page a little more?
Exciting news! - Thanks to you’re support and kind reviews we have now made it into the top 10 list of things to do in Wigan!
Never visited us before or wondering how we got here? Come and visit us on a Sunday (especially a Steaming Sunday) for a day you won’t soon forget!
