Carney has been telling Canadians he can replace roughly $1 trillion in trade with the United States.

The deals announced so far amount to about 1% of that trade.

Canadians can’t live on 1% of previous trade revenue.

When the minister responsible for Canada-U.S. trade was asked when the Prime Minister will actually deliver real results, the answer was that he’s “doing exactly that, his job” and building with “reliable partners around the world.”

The gap between the rhetoric and the actual deals is enormous. Canadians are still waiting for the part that shows up on a paycheque or in a plant that stays open.
