@JeffZillgitt The very definition of a pro. Great at his job and always kind to everyone he came into contact with. Glad the NBA was always his beat. Hope to see more of you, Jeff, in whatever you do next!
Just terrible news. A true legend, amazing humor and wit and an incredible writer. Our relationship began with โThe Punchโ and carried on from there (especially when he wanted to make fun of Notre Dame). A phone call or meeting was never boring. RIP to an all-time great.

Been really cool to see how the @HoustonRockets have treated @Jonathan_Feigen as he enters his retirement. Great reminder of how respectful both are of each other and how relationships drive everything. Truly how it should be.
Thank you @Jonathan_Feigen for your incredible coverage of Rockets basketball over the years. Your dedication, insight, and storytelling have been a gift to fans and the game.
Wishing you all the best in retirement. ๐
Congrats on an amazing run @Jonathan_Feigen. Have always appreciated your professionalism but most importantly our friendship. Even when we disagreed it was never an argument. You will be missed, my man. Keep in touch!
Well, I guess this is happening. Today is my last day at @HoustonChron. I'm hanging them up. Way too many people to thank to fit here or in today's column. So grateful for all these years covering the Rockets, for my mentors, peers and especially readers. https://t.co/oTOKmBpQEf
I've had it on my twitter bio for years and people barely noticed. But now everyone knows that Altoona, PA is the center of the universe. Happy to share the many landmarks if you want to visit my hometown.
I canโt even put into words the impact CD had on me. I had so much to learn about this profession when I got to Houston and he guided me every step of the way. His patience, his kindness, his respect for all. Heโs simply one of the greatest people I ever met. Iโll miss you CD
The Rockets family mourns the loss of beloved former coach and general manager, Carroll Dawson, affectionately known as "CD."
For nearly three decades, CD was a cornerstone of our organization, instrumental in shaping the careers of stars like Hakeem Olajuwon and Ralph Sampson.ย A proud Texas native, CD served as the only coach to be present for all four of Houston's NBA Finals appearances, including the back-to-back championship teams. As general manager, he brought iconic talents to Houston including Charles Barkley, Steve Francis, Yao Ming, and Tracy McGrady, while also assembling the four-time WNBA champion Houston Comets.
While CD's contributions to basketball were remarkable, it was his character that truly stood out. We will deeply miss his uplifting spirit, infectious humor, and kind-hearted nature.
We are proud that CD's legacy will forever be honored with his banner hanging from the rafters of Toyota Center, alongside our other Rockets legends.

When I first started in this business, no one treated me better and acted more like we were life long friends than Bill. He always made you feel special and 30 years later, he still was the same guy every time I saw him. Sad day for everyone who had the pleasure to know him
