Camborne students were not put off by a little wet weather this week and were able to squeeze in a trip to Trevaskis farm to explore some sewing and growing, explore some of the coastline and when the weather got too much they resorted to some traditional pasty making.

One of our students has been presented with a handmade ukulele for achieving the consistently high score on the Rock School online tests. It was presented by Gaz of Gaz Music Solutions. The ukulele has been hand built by a gentleman from Exmouth, who is himself visually impaired.
Primary update! In Science this term we have been focusing on animals and their habitats. As part of this, we have made different habitats in boxes and written reports about some of our favourite animals.
At Primary last week we did a kite flying project. The students designed, made and adapted their kites in order to make them fly. There were lots of smiles on LOTC flying our kites, with one student saying “Miss this is amazing, I’ve never flown a kite before”.
Below are some photos from a recent Music lesson at Exeter. We use an outside provider -GAZ Music Solutions. This is a Year 10 pupil looking at Garage band to record and sample various sounds including his playing of a ukulele and percussion instruments.
We were officially presented with our Bronze Award for supporting staff wellbeing which we should have received last year (covid got in the way). Thanks to all the staff that made this happen.
The students helped create a Winnie the Pooh snakes and ladders theme for rewards board. Every lesson they attend and work they do, they get a throw of the dice, the board consists of a lucky dip at the end of the game and random acts of kindness to help build their confidence.
A couple of our students did a display for word of the week, just before half term, with the theme of nostalgia. They chose to do something around COVID for people to look back on.
Thankyou Thursday! Mr Bindon led our all staff briefing this morning and wanted to re-iterate his thanks to all the groups of staff and their exceptional hard work in keeping momentum in this complicated year. Enjoy Easter and have a well deserved rest.
ACE Schools Bretonside received a donation of 50 Easter Eggs for our students this week from supermarket chain @Morrisons They have definitely helped put smiles on students faces for the end of term!
St Austell: creating osmosis experiments using different acidic liquids, eggs and golden syrup. We dissolved the raw egg’s shell using vinegar and expanded the eggs through osmosis. We then shrunk the eggs using the same process and golden syrup. Finally we made blue, bouncy eggs
