I have had numerous constructive meetings with Mr. Blanche and he comes across as decent and capable. I appreciate the trip he made to learn more about Alaska, including our rural areas, and as Acting Attorney General he has made several noteworthy decisions that will benefit our state and the nation.

Ultimately, however, I will oppose his nomination.

The politicization—even weaponization—of the Department did not start with this administration but has accelerated during it. I take issue with the handling of the release of the Epstein files; the sweeping immunity protections granted to the President, his family, and their businesses; the statements that have been made to anti-abortion groups; and the repeated targeting of individuals ranging from former administration staff to sitting U.S. Senators.

I am also keenly aware that the Department’s nearly $2-billion dollar slush fund—which likely would have rewarded January 6 protesters—is only off the table because this nomination is pending and the Senate has leverage. Once we vote, that will end, and there is no telling what the future holds.

The country needs an Attorney General who will check the worst impulses of this administration. I hope Mr. Blanche is able to achieve that, if confirmed, but I simply do not have confidence that will be the case.

【学校と活動家の異常な癒着】
⑤ 研修のしおりに活動家の「座り込み呼びかけ文」を掲載（※報告書53〜54頁）
過去の研修旅行のしおりに、活動家（ヘリ基地反対協議会）が作成した「座り込み活動への���加を呼びかける文章」がそのまま掲載されていた。完全に教育の域を逸脱したプロパガンダ。

⑥ 生徒の旅費（謝礼）が「抗議活動団体」に流れていた（※報告書85頁）
前年度、活動家側から「謝礼をそのままヘリ基地反対協議会に入れてほしい」と要求され、教員は言われるがまま「ヘリ基地反対協議会」名義で領収書を切り、生徒から集めた旅行費を反対運動の団体に支払っていた。

【あり得ない当日の現場】
⑦ 漁港を使わず「幅50cmの防波堤」から危険な乗船（※報告書112〜114頁）
乗船場所は安全な漁港ではなく、防波堤の脇の浅瀬。理由は「名護市から漁港への係留許可を得ていなかったから」。抗議活動の時と同じ裏ルートであり、生徒たちは幅50〜60cmしかない���波堤や護岸石の上を歩かされて乗船していた。

⑧ 海保の「波が高い」という警告の直後、生徒にボートを操縦させる（※報告書119〜120頁）
大浦湾に出た際、海保のゴムボートが接近し、拡声器で「本日は波が高いので十分気を付けてください」と明確な安全指導（警告）を行っていた。しかし活動家の船長は、その直後に水深の深い海域で「操縦してみる？」と生徒にボートのハンドルやスロットルを操作（操縦体験）させていた。安全意識など微塵もない。

⑨ 生徒の「沈没するかも」という悲鳴を完全無視して爆走（※報告書120〜121頁）
帰路、ボートが突然スピードを上げた。生徒たちが「これやばいんちゃうん」「船掴まなきゃ」「怖い」「沈没するかも」と恐怖を訴え、必死に手すりにつかまっていたのに、船長は生徒の不安な声を完全無視。あろうことか白波に船首を向けて真っ直ぐ突っ込み、その直後に大波を受けて転覆した。

【事故後の冷酷すぎる対応】
⑩ 転覆直後、教えられた「海保の通報番号」が間違っていた（※報告書121頁）
ボートが転覆し、巨大な波に何度も飲み込まれる極限状態の中。もう一隻のボートに乗っていた関係者が生徒に対し「海保に電話して！」と番号を伝えたが、なんとその電話番号が【誤っていた】。そのせいで即座に救助要請ができず、パニックの中で生徒が自力で調べて通報する羽目になった。

⑪ パニック状態の生徒から「親との電話」を代わるよう求められるも着信拒否（※報告書122頁）
奇跡的に救助された負傷生徒が、病院からパニック状態で保護者に電話を繋いだ。親が「先生に代わってほしい」と懇願し、生徒��引率教員に電話を差し出したが、教員は「情報錯綜を避けるため」「事情聴取で忙しい」という理由で電話を替わることを拒否した。

⑫ 事故の翌朝、生徒への第一声が「SNSに情報を流すな」（※報告書128〜129頁）
事故の翌朝、朝食会場に集まった精神的ショックを受けている生徒たちに対して、教員が行った指示の一つが「SNSに亡くなった生徒の写真や情報を流さないこと」。生徒の心のケアよりも前に、口封じともとれる保身を徹底していた。

They still only lost by four.

Game 4 they went down 29 and won it anyway.

Yesterday we signed a deal to help Saudi Arabia enrich uranium.

The first time the United States has ever helped another country enrich uranium on foreign soil.

The Saudis refused the inspection protocol 140 other countries accept. Too intrusive, they said.

Trump agreed. He signed a national security waiver to get around the rule.

The Saudis paid Kushner $100 million. They put $2 billion into his firm. They put another $6 billion into LIV Golf, which pays Trump properties to host its tournaments. They signed ten billion dollars in Trump-branded real estate deals in Jeddah and Riyadh. All in just the last few years.
