@AOJ The amount of kool aid people are drinking in this topic is unreal
While Nintendo was more committed to physical at one point than the others that has significantly changed
@ScottBoyDes@JoshEdits If people aren’t streaming they are digitally owning . Thats the point.
And that problem existed when cable was a thing. Featured movies for a few months then cycle out.
@Keyblade_Dragon@JoshEdits Movies are in the middle of the transition but it’s happening. Music happened years ago because it was the smallest media. You can’t say the same about that.
With smart tv being prominent the players are melting away. Give it a few more years
@heaaaps They’re mainly competing against markets across consoles as it is because they know most players own multiple systems. Haven’t you noticed sales oftentimes are in alignment with each other across the markets ?
@Spidercolt@NipsPlz@Thyyl0@KtmKostas You sent an alleged leak that’s been shared around and not vetted . Nothing proven and you’re accepting it fully without critical thought because it fits YOUR narrative.
I have decades of consumer behavior reshaping music and movie industries . You have a leak
@NipsPlz@Spidercolt@Thyyl0@KtmKostas Naturally those who prefer bottles would be upset, but if I’m losing money to appease the few who want bottles to still make them when it’s still the same lemonade why should I be expected to cater to those few?
The masses already made this choice, not Sony.
@NipsPlz@Spidercolt@Thyyl0@KtmKostas If I sold lemonade in a cup and a bottle at a stand. Bottles cost a dollar each to make and the cups are 5 cents. I charge the same for either. Over time my customers prefer cups to bottles so much that I lose money on making bottles. Is it not common sense I sunset the bottles ?
@Spidercolt@Thyyl0@KtmKostas If music was selling you’d see no reduction of music sections in stores, the tons of music stores that existed wouldn’t have closed. It’s VERY niche lol
Movies are in a midway point. They’ll be there within 10 years tops.
@Spidercolt@Thyyl0@KtmKostas And I’m sorry I’m not buying this “leak” either. Listen Sony is a business. If they had significant revenue in physical they’d still support it . They wouldn’t take this risk if they didn’t have the data.
@Spidercolt@Thyyl0@KtmKostas You’re wrong about music. What is released is niche. Heck cars don’t even have cd players in them anymore. Where’s the uproar about that?
Movies were later as they’re a larger data medium than music but they’re on the way.
@ChitoGamingLive I think Nintendo always resisted part of the digital age. Probably in part because a good part of their audience were minors as they went for an e for everyone approach. Keeping software on cards more manageable for kids at one point.
@Spidercolt@Thyyl0@KtmKostas Fwiw I miss physical media but customers picked this decision for decades. Wild that people are up in arms pointing fingers at Sony as the scapegoat for what is ultimately our own behavior.
@Spidercolt@Thyyl0@KtmKostas Movies and music aren’t printed physically close to the level they used to be. Most music is digital only. Movies almost there .
It’s dumb to expect anyone to lose profit on doing it an old way when the vast majority want another format
Not way of future…choice of customer
@RinoTheBouncer Customers said yes for decades when it happened to music
Customers said yes for movies as well
Games are no different
Customers have made this choice for years
@ItsCass9@KtmKostas I’m not defending Sony. I’m saying WE are accountable. US. I’m saying WE are responsible of decades of this behavior that closed businesses and changed the market for music and movies. People keep saying Sony but they are responding to OUR media behavior .
@JoshEdits Would love to see all these outraged people’s music and movie collections. They’re probably boycotting car manufacturers because they don’t have the choice to use a cd in their car .
Sony didn’t do this. We made this choice for decades because we prefer convenience . So own it.
