I’ve come to realize in trading that moment when it’s time to act is not when risk is the greatest. The real problems arise the minutes, hours and days leading up to the task and the minutes, hours and days after. It all comes down to the preparation. Redundancies. Redundancies.
@tiff4mahogany Must be convenient to assume it’s fake. I’ve had real encounters with PD threatening my life. While driving in a clearly marked work vehicle for a major O&G operator. I’m an engineer. Doing literally nothing. And 1st question PD ask is where are the guns and drugs.
Why I trade futures after hours and overnight:
1. Less Volatility
2. Can look for a smaller move with bigger size
3. Don’t have to constantly monitor it
4. Can set up orders to automatically execute
5. The biggest moves typically happen overnight
6. Biden is too sleepy to tweet mean things
When I’m going through a few red days or a red week (like right now for me 🔴Feb ‘24 -4K), I generally will always double down on my journaling by reviewing specific parameters of my past trades. We’re all human, so there are always little nuggets of truth we can learn from to become a better trader.
Maybe we didn’t wait for confirmation, maybe there was too much directional bias, maybe you were bagholding, maybe you weren’t in a good enough mental space to trade…..maybe, maybe, maybe…
The key is identifying and acknowledging those maybes and putting together a plan to address them.
