As EMS week ends. I saw another person say that doing this never made them feel like a hero. I think the definition of hero should be entertained.

a person admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. They are typically individuals who act selflessly to help others, often putting the well-being of a cause or community above their own personal safety or comfort.

I’ll honestly say I have never wanted to be anything but a superhero since I was old enough to read. I don’t have a cape or fancy powers. Sometimes it’s just being brave enough to face impossible odds in the service of others. This has been the closest thing I will ever get to that little boy’s dream. Wether that be holding a dying persons hand or helping someone get their partner up out of the floor at four in the morning because they are to weak to do it themselves.

To all first responders that still hold the line. I believe in you. Your strength has carried so many when no one else could. Be safe and carry on the good fight. I’m proud of you all. Happy EMS week.
