Petit Verdot time! We picked the last of our Petit Verdot, off to the destemmer, then to a tank for fermentation. Things are looking really promising despite the challenges weβve faced this year!
When the punch downs are this easy, you know fermentation is winding down! Weβll be pressing this Merlot off itβs skins in a few days and then transferring it to barrel... #vawine
Punching down our Merlot: We do this 2-3 times a day during fermentation in order to keep the yeast healthy and extract all that goodness from the berries! #vawine
Itβs been a tough year in the vineyard with all the rain but our Chardonnay is coming along nicely. Hopefully we can pick next week at the end of this dry spell...π€

The animals love Pinot Gris as much as we do! This tightly woven netting helps protect the fruit against birds, Turkey, deer, etc. Weather permitting it should be ready in another week or two!
