Amongst lies that propagandists have repeated ad nauseam is that there is no Kukis in Imphal, a lie that seeks to justify ethnic cleansing of Meiteis from Churachandpur to justify their demand for a Kuki exclusive 'separate administration'. Check this latest report, that too, by a web portal which has been a favourite for these propagandists!

Demand for 'separate administration' is not new. This cycle of violence is part of the same politics. In fact, 3rd May, 2023 was the 'Direct Action Day' inaugurated at Churachandpur and border area in neighbouring Bishnupur district by the communal, separatist, disintegrationist and sacterian forces for a 'separate administration' of 'Kuki Homeland' just as 16th August, 1946 was the 'Direct Action Day' of the Muslim League for a separate Muslim homeland.

Ethnic cleansing of Meiteis from Churachandpur and Moreh is a reality that has been achieved within days of that violence. Shrewd and tactical deployment of 'tribal-nontribal' and 'minority-majority' vocabularies have more or less successfully camouflaged that brutal reality. Therefore, Meiteis must be mindful of the fact that their retaliatory violence is dictated by that politics, lest they lose their agency.

I lodge a complaint to the section of Ministry Health and Family Welfare related to PMJAY scheme, regarding the issue of replacement in address of the Beneficiaries of PMJAY in Moreh town, from their original Meitei Village Names to Kuki Village names. The complaint was forwarded to the National Health Authority(NHA), who is the overall incharge of the PMJAY scheme.

A technical investigation was held with NHA and me, and it was learnt that, after the new Distrcts of Manipur was formed, the State Health Agency, who is incharge of the PMJAY scheme in Manipur, have not given the actual details of the new districts and so, Local Government Directory (LGD) mapping could not be completed. The NHA has assured me to look into the matter and will complete the LGD mapping with the factual data. NHA has also assured me to rectify the mistakes that had been done and will issue the PMJAY cards with the correct Villages with Meitei names.

I personally appeal to State Health Agency to give the factual data to the National Health Authority at the earliest.
