Most people still talk about Africa as a future opportunity.
What I saw in Addis Ababa is something different.
The conversations were about AI, media, tourism, innovation, entrepreneurship, and global visibility. The talent is here. The momentum is here. The question is whether the world is paying attention.
Africa's rise is not a future prediction.
It is already underway.

Ethiopia 🇪🇹 is moving closer to its goal of planting 65 billion trees through the Green Legacy Initiative.
The country plans to plant more than 8 billion seedlings this year, bringing the total planted since 2019 to over 56 billion.
The project is one of the largest reforestation programs in the world, helping restore forests, reduce soil erosion, improve biodiversity, and support efforts to tackle climate change. Planting activities are already underway.

🇪🇹 ETHIOPIA IS NOT PLAYING
When Ethiopia said it wants to be Africa’s #1 aviation hub and among the world’s leading hubs, it meant it.
Below: progress on Bishoftu International Airport.
- $12.5 BILLION project
- 4x the size of Bole International
- Full capacity: 110M passengers/year
- Architect: Zaha Hadid Architects
Today, we officially launched this year’s Green Legacy Initiative. With a target of planting 8 billion seedlings this year, we are steadily advancing toward our larger set goal of 65 billion trees.

Ethiopia is constructing the new Bishoftu International Airport, situated roughly 40 km southeast of Addis Ababa.
Located at 1,910 meters above sea level, the site sits at a lower altitude than Bole International Airport, enabling more efficient aircraft performance.
When fully operational, it is projected to serve up to 110 million passengers per year, positioning it to become Africa’s largest airport.
The $12.5 billion project is viewed as the most ambitious aviation infrastructure development in the continent’s history and forms a cornerstone of Ethiopia’s vision to emerge as a major global aviation hub.
Bishoftu International Airport, the largest aviation infrastructure project in Africa's history, is being built day and night with unyielding determination ready to welcome 110 million passengers annually when completed, placing Ethiopia among the world’s top aviation hubs!
