Just defended my PhD from the University of Southern California. 🎉
My PhD explored the photophysics of molecules using lasers. The applications span from OLEDs to photocatalysis and quantum information science. I thank my advisor, collaborators and my family for the support. 😍
Summarizing the internship of Ripley Otero from @cerritoscollege.
.
He studied the ultrafast dynamics of photosensitizers based on earth-abundant elements. All the best!
New paper from @BradforthGroup and Prof. Mark Thompson Group.
Investigating the charge transfer dynamics in photosensitizers based on earth-abundant elements.
These photosensitizers are promising candidates for sustainable energy solutions. https://t.co/E0Jgoi60QH
The 2023 @ACSPHYSDivision senior experimental PChem award winner, Steve Bradforth @USCChemistry drop by @AIP_Publishing Booth 738 to wish JCP Happy 90th Birthday. You are invited too.
“It seems about time now for masers and lasers to become everyday tools of science.”
Physicist Charles Townes paved the way for lasers in our daily lives. In his 1964 #NobelPrize lecture he spoke about possible applications of masers and lasers: https://t.co/MBIactoUlt
It was the last day with the summer intern from Cerritos College, CA. She gave an excellent talk on the charge transfer dynamics in Zr-based photosensitizers. @BradforthGroup
Delighted to be part of this article. Our work on Photosensitizers is featured here.

@kessm05 Yes, we need to see the growth of the populated triplet state as well to confirm that the decay is ISC. This can be done using pico-second transient absorption (psTA) measurements. Doing ultrafast TCSPC in conjunction with psTA will establish that the decay is ISC.
Elated to share that I won the best talk award at the Wrigley Annual Research Symposium.
.
It was a great experience to share our work to a broader audience.
@USCWrigley@BradforthGroup
I am excited to share that Steve @BradforthGroup has been selected as the 2023 Experimental Physical Chemistry Awardee.
.
The award is from the Physical Chemistry Division of the ACS.
.
Congratulations Steve! @USCChemistry@USCDornsife
Today was my last day teaching for CHM 430- Thermodynamics and Kinetics with @JahanDawlaty. I truly enjoyed the course and learned many things from the students. It was a fantastic experience to teach with Jahan.@USCChemistry
