Niner Faithful, Former A's Fan and Avs Convert, Lucky Father of two amazing kids! California Native Displaced at Birth but found my home in Colorful Colorado!
@DuaneS39 This is not the flex you thought it was. Dahlin didn’t lose this award because Landy won it. May Dahlin’s family find peace. But Gabe nearly lost his leg, doesn’t get talked about. Respect to all that overcame, that’s what this award is about.
Brandon Aiyuk seems frustrated that attaining free agency isn’t as easy as some on social media suggested it would be.
The cake-and-eat-it-too option of getting paid AND avoiding team contractual control by simply shunning obligations doesn’t exist in real life
There are STILL people out there (mostly in DC), thinking the 49ers must:
(1) Cut Brandon Aiyuk to avoid his taking up a roster spot; and,
(2) Cut Aiyuk before the start of the season to avoid paying him his roster bonus.
That is absolute nonsense. As long as Aiyuk continues to be on the DNR list, he is not counted against the roster, and is owed no money.
The “49ers will have to cut him anyway” crowd are carrying around an empty picnic basket.
SF can simply leave him on the shelf indefinitely, through this season and well beyond, until he grows a pair and shows up. Aiyuk’s career tanking is 100% on Aiyuk himself.
@Coach_Yac@SFman199 On one hand I’ll feel bad. He’s a great talent and teammate. On the other I’m disgusted. It sucks! Wish it could’ve worked but clearly it’s gotten ugly. Let him go! We all need space from this drama. Why can’t we have a normal offseason, like ever!?!?
@BDPeacock@CoachCrocky@BayAreaWink re-watching the Packers v Niners NFC ship, that team was so dominant. 2019 was the best in the era. Mostert ran so fast but never looked like he was trying. So wild. I think he hit 22mph without trying.
I understand the immediate anger about wanting to blow it all up. Fire everyone etc.
But can we take a moment and look at the facts:
This team lost 1 freaking time in all of 2025.
This team led the NHL wire to the wire for the first time in god knows how long.
This team had the most standings points in their 30 years history.
This team gave up the fewest goals and scored the most.
This team swept the first round and took out one of the top teams in the league and a bitter rival in 5 games.
Should what happened in the span of 8 days invalidate what this team did in 8 months?
With no Makar? And a very injured Mackinnon?
I don't get the window closing talk. Did the majority of this team have a rough series. YUP. Did many have a rough playoff. YUP.
But that shit happens. The playoffs are a lot of luck. They are very unpredictable. You gotta get your way through the regular season gauntlet before you can even start trying to get through.
Don't get me wrong this ending is unacceptable. But I just refuse to let these last 8 days invalidate what the last 8 months of Avalanche hockey felt like.
8 days ago this was the most fun season of Avs hockey I've seen in 30 years.
And next year?
We get a full year of Naz back. We will be featured in the biggest NHL premier game for the first time ever. We are getting TWO brand New Jerseys that I cannot wait to buy. And there's nothing I've seen that shows me they can't have a ton of success next year again.
Crazy how quick things flopped but it happens.
Bottom line I hope Sakic and Co and Avs Faithful take a step back and really look at the bigger picture here.
At 4 am this morning, as I laid in a deep slumber, I was called to action by my wife who had discovered a spider the size of a half dollar in the bathroom. Without hesitation I arose to combat the intruder. Claire handed me the slant board I’ve been using for rehab, and I immediately knew the spider had no chance. It took but 1 attempt to strike down my opponent. I received hugs and kisses for my bravery and fell back asleep with confidence. Have a day gentlemen. 🕷️
