Mawlana Tariq Jamil is one of those rare individuals whom Allah has blessed with an extraordinary degree of acceptance and love in the hearts of people. His decades of sincere da‘wah, gentle manner, and concern for the Ummah have touched millions across the world. May Allah preserve him, accept his efforts, and increase him in goodness.

I had the good fortune to meet him once again in Sydney, Australia. During our meeting, I asked Mawlana Tariq for a piece of advice. He lowered his head and remained quiet for a few moments before responding. He said: Make sure your heart remains pure toward your fellow believers, and make sure your tongue never harms another person.

A simple yet profound reminder that so much of our faith is manifested in what we harbor in our hearts and what we allow to leave our tongues.
