Free, up-to-date help for entering Thailand: TDAC arrival card, 30-day visa exemption, extensions, overstay and border rules. Not a government site. 🇹🇭
🚨 Crossing into Thailand by land or sea? The overlander trap:
Visa-exempt land/sea entries: max 2 per calendar year (exceptions: Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore). And you need a new TDAC every time.
Planning repeat entries? Ask a Thai embassy like @ThaiEmbDC.
Full border checklist 👇
1. TDAC isn't just for flyers. All non-Thai nationals arriving by land or sea must submit it before arrival, within 3 days before, arrival day included. The official form is free and it is not a visa.
2. New entry = new TDAC. An old confirmation doesn't carry over to your next crossing.
3. On the 15-day exemption? TAT specifies a maximum of two land-border entries per calendar year.
4. Myanmar passport? The 14-day bilateral exemption applies at international airports only, not land crossings.
5. Before you submit, recheck full name, nationality and date of birth. Those can't be edited afterwards. Made a mistake? Submit a new TDAC. The latest one counts.
6. Keep the confirmation and QR code ready at the checkpoint.

@Schumig1@FattyNatsu Good catch, thanks. Thailand Elite was rebranded as Thailand Privilege in 2023, and the new Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Reserve packages replaced the old ones from 1 October 2023. Lots of long-time members still say Elite out of habit.
@ThaiTrainGuide Handy route. For anyone doing it in reverse, Penang back into Thailand: the TDAC applies at land borders too, not just airports, so file it on the free official site before the train reaches Padang Besar. Every new entry needs a fresh card.
@hanyaasakitt Solo week in Thailand sounds great. One prep thing before the fun part: the TDAC arrival card is free on the official immigration site and goes in within 3 days of landing, arrival day included. Are you leaning beaches or the north?
@KhaosodEnglish One thing that still trips up first-timers: paid lookalike sites rank high in search, but the official TDAC arrival card costs nothing. It can be submitted within 3 days of arrival, arrival day included. Do you think simpler paperwork would bring more visitors back?
@ThaiEnquirer For passengers now landing a day late: if your arrival date shifts, the TDAC can be fixed with "Update Arrival Card" on the official site. Full name, passport number, nationality and date of birth can't be edited, so a wrong one there means submitting a new card.
