I’ve had a lot of fun throughout my career, but creating these icons for the agents in collaboration with some incredibly talented designers and engineers takes the cake.
Also, tell me which one is your favorite, because I still can’t decide.
🧵i'm so hyped we're launching Appshots (fka Skyshots) in Codex today (https://t.co/8B2hBknBxr)! the story for this starts in 2024 so i thought it would be fun to run it back!
NEW from The General Podcast: the "design founder" episode.
@brian_lovin x @wjosephflynn
Before this conversation, Brian and Joey had never actually met, but had surprisingly parallel careers.
Both spent early years at Facebook, both started multiple companies, both found their way into some of the most design-forward product orgs today, and both were nominated to come on the show by legendary design leader, @soleio.
This one's for the designers. Tune in👇🎧
Yesterday I was telling a friend I managed to get Hermann Zapf’s Sapphire typeface cast in metal, and then I was like ZAPPHIRE.
See what he did there? Hero 💎

@titanas Yes, those are the ones! Two long and two short. Took me a bit to figure them out since it’s my first time restoring a press, but I’ve finally got it. Here she is.
So, one of the most difficult things to do when owning a platen press (I own a C&P Pilot) is leveling it. After 2 failed attempts, I finally got it right with a little help from ChatGPT. Somewhere between cast iron and code, it finally clicked.
@titanas It does come leveled! But I had to restore mine (it was very rusty), which meant recalibrating the platen and adjusting the bolts to get even pressure across the form. There are many debates about touching/not touching the bolts to recalibrate it, but in my case I had no choice.
The shape of the heart. Not the anatomical one. The other one. The tiny icon we tap without thinking. I just wrote about where it came from, and how we all somehow agreed that this is what love looks like. Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️
