Love the idea and evidence for intermittent boluses but logistics are another thing altogether where I work.

Smaller patients or those with other reasons to reduce max doses present a concern. Intermittent boluses sound great if the institution can handle that but some are unwilling.

@BlockIt_Hot_Pod @amit_pawa @jeffgadsden question for X or a future episode. How are people running their rectus sheath catheters (or any catheters) in terms of volume and concentration. I’ve seen and heard the 400 mg Bupi or equivalent/day max dose. Can be challenging.

@fuzzymittens Absolutely detest opioid equivalents as pain study outcome. however I am learning that study design can make other primary outcomes much more challenging. Not impossible obviously but way harder

I made an animation to illustrate Mach Bands: the exaggerated contrast our visual system produces when an edge is visible.

Note how the difference between colors becomes (almost) imperceptible when the edge is covered by a pencil.

This is really important in reading CXRs!
