@Evabrownies420 @cindyhughes68 Let It Be was shelved and they quit purely out of apathy. It’s why they pivoted to the rooftop concert, where they suddenly “remembered how to play.” Had John not taken the masters to Phil Spector, no one would have seen or heard that album as it was.

The other narrative about the style suddenly changing doesn’t line up with what I’ve listened to almost nonstop. There are jumps, but the progression is clear

I listened to the albums in order, on repeat for years. They developed, added new techniques. That’s what musicians do. Are you going to tell me Radiohead didn’t play anything til Kid A? Same logic.

That’s a far cry from “they didn’t write or play on their first 4 albums.” They didn’t stop touring til 1966 - Revolver - their 7th album. And what - they suddenly wrote and played then?
