Throughout the year, we often highlight our athletes and coaches and work to keep our community connected to everything happening in Mascoutah Athletics. As this school year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to recognize one of the true stars of our athletic department—someone whose impact has been felt at nearly every game, event, and championship moment over the last four years.

Owen Dressler has poured his heart and soul into Mascoutah Athletics, and quite simply, he is someone we cannot replace.

Through his microphone, Owen brought Indian athletics to life. Whether you were sitting in the stands, listening in your car, watching from your living room, or following from miles away, his voice became synonymous with Mascoutah sports. What many people didn't see were the countless hours of preparation, the late nights, the research, the editing, and the dedication that went into perfecting his craft. He is also responsible for creating “The Indians Sports Network,” which was a resounding success!

Owen wasn't just announcing games, he was telling the stories of our athletes. He gave our students a bigger platform, a brighter spotlight, and moments they will remember for the rest of their lives. He celebrated their successes, captured their emotions, and helped showcase what makes Mascoutah special.

For four years, Owen truly has been the Voice of the Indians, and he carried that responsibility with incredible pride, professionalism, and class.

As he heads to the University of Kansas to pursue a degree in broadcasting, we know his future is incredibly bright. But no matter where this journey takes him, he will always have a home here in Mascoutah.

This year, Owen was named Indian of the Year, an honor that couldn't be more fitting. Not because of what he accomplished behind a microphone, but because of who he is as a person. He represents the very best of our school, our community, and our values. He truly bleeds purple.

We often say, "Once an Indian, Always an Indian."

That statement applies to many people who have walked these halls and worn our colors. It especially applies to this remarkable young man.

Owen, thank you for four unforgettable years. Thank you for bringing our games to life, for elevating our athletes, and for representing Mascoutah with such talent, passion, and class.

We will miss your voice, but we couldn't be more proud of the person behind it.

Construction continues at Veterans Park!

The snow set us back just a bit, but progress is happening every single day. Crews are working hard, and we’re now roughly a month away from completion. The vision is becoming reality very soon!

One of our very talented students went to work on a video paying tribute to the final MVC game on Alumni Field after 54 years. When asked to narrate the video, I was obviously honored to be a part of it as someone who was blessed to wear that same uniform, on this same field. I had no idea it would turn out so awesome! Emotional to watch and think about our history to be honest. This will play just before kick off tonight. I hope you all enjoy it. Incredible job Lexi!
