@KUhokie42@iridium_tea I read somewhere that there was an issue with the harvest of the plant that Sparteine is extracted from for a couple of years that put a dent in the supply.
@iridium_tea@KUhokie42 Yes, there's no scarcity anymore. My sorry ass was working on a project back then that needed Sparteine as an auxiliary for an asymmetric reaction and had to rethink the whole project since we couldn't get Sparteine.

AI can cure cancer... by figuring out how to generate revenue to fund scientists working. The problem has always been funding and not the lack of creativity in experimentation.
Sam Altman says AI will someday be able to cure cancer in collaboration with humans by suggesting wet lab experiments to do and then thinking about the results
Had a great time recording this with @aplooby28 - more than 90 min of chilies, chemistry, careers and more!
Thank you to Synthesis Workshop @MatthewHorwitz1 for supporting this great podcast! πΆοΈπ§ͺ
@AriWagen@RowanSci Love the interface and ease of using your platform. I am definitely planning on recommending this to some of my colleagues who are ChemEd in NY metro universities.
Live on @RowanSci: new molecule builder updates that make it easy to move and rotate structures. This makes it much easier to set up a TS opt of a reaction, optimize systems of molecules in a given arrangement, etc.
