I have not seen a single mainstream media outlet give this the attention it deserves.

Israel blew up an entire Lebanese town, an ancient place. It should be headline news. There’s footage of it happening.

Imagine this was your town, and you saw every building blown up by a terrorist army to prevent you from ever returning. You would at the very least expect wall to wall coverage. Instead it passes without a word.

It’s not the only town Israel has blown up. And sadly it probably won’t be the last.

I would say that if the entire video was made available, one might have found content that contradicts the interpretation suggested by the organization founded by a former Israeli intelligence officer.

However, given that we have The Independent’s report where Sami clearly rejected what happened on October 7, along with another clear video in which he speaks against celebrating war and the loss of life, and considering the thousands of tweets and posts by Sami with not a single piece of evidence supporting the accusations made by that Israeli officer’s organization — the truth could not be clearer.

From an academic and ethical standpoint, and in good faith, it would be wrong to ignore what Sami has explicitly said, and instead rely solely on material produced by supporters of Israel, a state Sami has criticized for its war crimes in Gaza.

Sami is a noble journalist and political analyst who deserves respect, not harassment or deportation.

I have rarely felt more ashamed of my country, both government and opposition, not just for tolerating but for actively enabling this daily mass-murder of terrified, trapped, unarmed civilians, shot down in cold blood because our politicians are either massively ignorant or actively hostile to the Palestinians and their cause. Shame on you @RishiSunak, @Keir_Starmer, @grantshapps & the rest of you who have so badly lost your moral bearings.
