Hi #EduTwitter, I will be teaching in a SRB (special resource base) next term. I'm looking for accounts to follow, & am open to any tips/ideas for teaching pupils with additional needs - mostly non-verbal autistic pupils. I'm ready to enter a world of PECS & Makaton! @MrTs_NQTs

I've used trusty google to make bilingual signs for my mud kitchen π€ͺ Are these translations correct/accurate? Would you use a different word or spelling? Diolch

@misswatters79@MrTs_NQTs Returning to this post to say thank you for the Mini Me idea. My class made their own this term and have been much more engaged in building for their characters πππ
How can I encourage my #eyfs class to use their construction area more purposefully? π·ββοΈπ·ββοΈThere is a new challenge to try each week. Pupils help themselves to a variety of blocks etc, but often use the area to run around despite open access to the outdoor area @MrTs_NQTs
Thank you all for these ideas! π·ββοΈπ The challenges aspect is out of my hands as it's a whole school approach, but I will definitely explore mini-me's and a book displaying good examples of pupil builds. Hopefully I can free up staff for some extra modelling in the area too. π

@Oldprimaryhead1 @WhistleblowingT I worked in a nut free school - we had a few young pupils with severe nut allergies. It was worth the 'sacrifice' to lessen the chance of anaphylaxis.
Supply work has been SO quiet. Lots of NQTs in the system and not enough work to go around. How can I politely ask my agencies to try and get me more work? @MrTs_NQTs
@MissY2Teacher @MrTs_NQTs Oh I totally understand this! I used to be the TA doing the covering. It's just frustrating to get qualified & then be fighting for the teeniest hours of work.
