@sdgates It's an interesting look at the difference between coach and mentor. I'm glad you were able to reach out to Megan and have a conversation. The cruelty of people in this industry really showed yesterday.
100% my mother would be erasing my work if she saw my handwriting today.
She's the best mum, promise! But she was a stickler for academics and neat handwriting and here I am today, as a designer, writing like a doctor.
@davidhoang I've been rejected, ghosted, and interviewed until the last round from a series of places — hoping all places found their right fit and the UX Designer who got the position is flourishing. This trend is weird but I'm happy for your positive spin.
Wendy - 'Feeling happy about things'
Wow. Didn't expect a gut punch from Wendy but okay. Is being an adult about contentment? That feeling of finally enjoying the precious moments life hands you. The still. The calm. For once, feeling, happy...No it isn't. Adulthood is hell.
@lhbizarro I love love hearing what devs have to say and really tell what other factors play I to what I've designed. Healthy conversations about the why and why not let me walk away knowing we made a concious decision as a team.
@tomchaffin714 Honestly, I get bootcamps, and I've met some really great talent with bootcamp backgrounds. But I feel like this way of marketing opens the doors for let downs and broken dreams.
The 10 y.o came in the room emo flipping his hair... I told him to go brush it out of his face before he hurts his neck...
WHO AM I?!
2007 me would've thought I was so lame.
I know, I'm biting... I hate it. BUT "All Dogs Go to Heaven" there will never be a stack of waffles that fills me with joy like the stack of buttery maple syrupy goodness that little adorable orphan had.
