Cranston Police have charged 62-year-old Anna Maria Angelosanto with Domestic Violence โ First Degree Murder in connection with the death of her 21-year-old daughter, Alexandra Straccia.
Police initially responded to the Kingwood Avenue residence on July 27 for a reported water emergency.
Officers found Alexandra deceased inside the home and her mother suffering from apparent self-inflicted injuries.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives say they developed probable cause to believe Angelosanto intentionally caused her daughterโs death before attempting to take her own life.
Police said Alexandra had severe autism and was entirely dependent on her mother for around-the-clock care.
After being released from Rhode Island Hospital this afternoon, Angelosanto was taken into custody, arraigned and ordered held without bail. She was transported to the ACI Womenโs Intake Facility.
The investigation remains active, and the case is now before the court. As with all criminal cases, Angelosanto is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
According to Deputy Chief Adam T. Remick

At approximately 7:00 p.m., officers located Ramos at River Island Park. Police said a foot pursuit followed, during which Ramos entered and swam across the Blackstone River.

The circulating videos of Perez Hilton are heartbreaking and disturbing. As a former dispatcher, Iโm more desensitized than most but this is not content. It is a human being in a severe psychotic crisis. Any platform that leaves it up is proof it has abandoned dignity integrity and only destroying our society.
Pawtucket, R.I. โ August 4, 2026
At approximately 12:30 a.m., Pawtucket Police officers on patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white BMW traveling in the city. The vehicle failed to stop and entered the on-ramp to Interstate 95 South.
According to radio transmissions, officers disengaged and stopped following the BMW as it entered the highway. Shortly after entering the highway, the BMW collided with another vehicle that was already in a lane of travel, causing that vehicle to sustain heavy damage.
Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
A man and woman were inside the white BMW that stopped ahead after the collision.
While officers removed and searched the female, they could be seen removing several small bottles that appeared to be alcohol from her clothing. She was placed into custody and later transported to the hospital. It remains unknown what charges she may face.
It is unknown why the vehicle initially failed to stop, one could assume which I hate to do, that it may have been because they were intoxicated.
This information is preliminary and based on radio transmissions and my observations at the scene.

Pawtucket, R.I. - August 3, 2026
At approximately 3:30 a.m. Monday morning, Pawtucket Police responded to a multi-family residence on Montgomery Street for a reported disturbance involving several individuals with witnesses reportedly seeing a gun and knives brandished as well as two injured victims.
Officers and firefighters arrived on scene and located only one person suffering from a minor stab wound. A second victim was self transported to an area hospital in a private vehicle with what was believed to also be a stab wound, where Pawtucket officers responded to attempt to speak with that individual.
Officers identified the third floor of the residence as the apparent location of the incident. They escorted and transported multiple witnesses to headquarters for questioning, including from what I saw approximately eight young adult women.
Detectives and BCI were called to investigate the incident.
Preliminary radio traffic indicated that many of the individuals involved did not seem very cooperative.
Information I gathered is preliminary and subject to change as detectives continued their investigation.

Rhode Island โ August 1โ2, 2026
Three separate incidents across Rhode Island this weekend all share one troubling factor: operators believed to be under the influence.
๐จ Cranston โ August 1
A 19-year-old driver allegedly operating under the influence crashed into a utility pole corner of Cranston Street and Haven Avenue. Cranston Police was seen attempting to conduct field sobriety tests but the female seemed too unsteady on her feet from my perspective. Two passengers were transported to the hospital with injuries. The operator was taken into custody and charged with DUI-1st offense BAC Unknown *pending blood results and Reckless Driving.
๐จ Pawtucket โ August 2 | Around 1:15 a.m.
An operator slowly rolled during a traffic stop on Lonsdale Avenue eventually pulling over. The Pawtucket Police officer pulled the operator out of the vehicle and determined the driver was allegedly under the influence. Narcotics were located in the vehicle, he was taken into custody charged with possession of narcotics and unknown what other charges he faced.
๐จ North Providence โ August 2 | Around 2:40 a.m.
responded to a vehicle that crashed into a utility pole on Mineral Spring Avenue. The operator was also believed to be under the influence. Unknown what charges this person may have faced.
Three incidents. Three communities. Fortunately, these crashes and stops did not end with the kind of tragedy that so often follows impaired driving.
Whether it's alcohol or drugs, getting behind the wheel while impaired puts not only your own life at risk, but everyone else sharing the road.
Drive sober. Get a ride. Make it home safely!

Warwick, R.I. - August 2, 2026
A new trend appears to be emerging across Rhode Island, and it may not be one many people expected. This time, it's being set by law enforcement.
Last week, you may remember I covered the Rhode Island State Police operation in Providence, where troopers blocked in a large gathering of vehicles at a business parking lot. The group had reportedly been playing loud music, drinking and disturbing nearby residents. Every vehicle was checked for registration, every driver was checked for a valid license, and vehicles found in violation were towed.
Early this morning around 4 AM, a similar operation unfolded in Warwick.
According to what I gathered, Warwick Police encountered another large vehicle gathering at Belmont Park. Officers blocked the vehicles from leaving and requested assistance from both Cranston Police and the Rhode Island State Police. From there, officers systematically checked each vehicle for valid registration and each driver for a valid operator's license. Vehicles found to be in violation were towed, while compliant vehicles were released one at a time.
The process took time, but it appears law enforcement is sending a message that these types of gatherings will receive a coordinated response. Rather than simply dispersing the crowd, departments are using available mutual aid and enforcement resources to address alleged violations such as unregistered vehicles, unlicensed operators and other motor vehicle offenses.
This follows several recent enforcement actions across the state, including Rhode Island State Police arrests involving drivers allegedly traveling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.
The recent operations in both Providence and Warwick suggest a noticeable shift in enforcement strategy.
