It was particularly lovely to get to revisit the topic of my MA dissertation. The journal article that resulted from that is available via the link below should anyone be interested: https://t.co/gqLS2A48im
An open access pre-print version is also here: https://t.co/cNRoC4rPi8
Recently I was delighted to be contacted by Linda Bennett of @goldleaf2001 & asked whether I'd be interested in sharing my thoughts on academic librarians use of social media.
I, of course, jumped at the chance & the resulting interview is now live here:

@JoCornish4 @JoWood04 I'd love to but I've already done a conference this year and don't think the work budget would stretch to a second one π¬
Plus, Jo W is the linchpin of any reunion and conference-based fun so if she's off cruising then we'll just have to wait until 2025 π
@JoWood04 I remember it fondly! Was a very fun night! I also remember riding the ghost train by myself and being genuinely a little bit scared (may have even closed my eyes at one point) π€£π»
@mariaoliviaking@LILAC_conf ππI mean we did pretty much exclusively attend the same talks! You could always run it through ChatGPT and ask it to re-write my summary in the style of your own writing π
Having attempted to digest all of the brilliant talks I attended at #LILAC24 I've attempted to summarise my 19 pages of notes into 3 key themes that I spotted across the sessions I attended.
Thanks again to the @LILAC_conf team for a brilliant conference

Saw an article title about Al Pacino the other day and read it as though there was to be a virtual version of him, rather than it simply being his name (the same one I've seen in the credits of loads of films!)
Something that's occupied my thoughts this week (exacerbated by it being a dominating topic at #LILAC24) - with the rise of AI and the preference for sans serif fonts, will the name Al (as in short for Alfred, Albert, Alan etc) die out?
Home & unpacked after an amazing 3 days at #LILAC24 in Leeds! A huge thank you to the conference team for putting together an incredible event and programme of talks. I feel so enriched by all I heard. I've got pages & pages of notes to decipher but for now it's sleep time!
And so my #LILAC24 journey begins. Train number one heading towards the capital!
Lovely to have some blue skies to accompany the journey, hopefully this will last for the whole of the conference (checks weather forecast and clutches to the brolly I thankfully put in my bag π§οΈπ)
Lovely little stroll through London from Waterloo to Leicester Square and a little ride on the tube to Kings Cross.
Leeds is on the board and train two of the day will follow shortly!

A little boost for this blog I wrote last week where I put down some of my thoughts on what I want to see from an AI research tool before I would even consider recommending it to my students:

Would be really interested in your thoughts!
I've been pondering AI again, this time in relation to search tools and what I want from them in order to be comfortable in recommending them to students and colleagues.
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Staying up to watch the whole of #TheOscars
seemed like a good idea last night. This morning as I prepare to deliver a referencing session to 1st year sport students on 4 hours sleep it seems a little foolhardy.
Hoping to channel some of Ryan Gosling's Kenergy
Wish me luck!
@katy_bird I usually resist and catch the highlights the next day but this year I'd managed to watch all of the nominated films in the main categories so was even more invested!
Really positive first meeting of the new @CILIP_ARLG committee earlier. Lots of good ideas and looking forward to helping get us back out there creating learning and networking opportunities for colleagues in academic and research libraries βΊοΈ
π More than 1/3 of #HE students whoβve used #generativeAI donβt know how often it produces hallucinations. For Mike Jones @ThatLibraryMan from @SolentUni, librarians can play a vital role in developing AI literacy. π€ Find out more π https://t.co/wspyMnGyYG
