@Conblob It's seriously pissing me off that every hypothesis 2016-21 that accorded any amount of strategic thinking to Trump went down in flames, yet here we are again.
Trump is and always will be the kid who eats one marshmallow today versus two tomorrow. Period.
@ASDem I've seen some prognostications that we'll land at 9.5 million votes. Which would be crazy. Having so many statewide elections, and a ton of unusually contentious house races, really juiced turnout.
@thehowie In addition, the administration's response was, "This is why we need taxpayer money to build a ballroom."
This isn't a serious response, and gives away the game that even they don't take this seriously.
@thehowie This is a direct consequence of normalizing real-world violence for decades. School shootings often don't merit a mention in the first half of the evening news.
This was, inevitably, going to result in the public becoming apathetic about political violence.
@RobertCStern@admcrlsn@yashar There are a few red counties that have completed their votes. Their margins relative to recent past elections gives a pretty clear picture of where the final vote will end up: roughly Yes +5%.
