Hiya @conwaywalsh . Very sorry for inconveniencing you earlier, though I didn't know the journalist was going to ask the question. Glad he did though. Your eye roll is spectacular, though your poker face is shite. Máiría.
War Diary Day 1,595
After FIFA’s corruption, the International Olympic Committee wants to welcome Russian athletes back.
Russia’s evil war has not stopped.
Russia must get out of Ukraine.
And then we talk.
#VPDFO!
Here is Gerry Adams in 2010 telling the Nolan show that he couldn't put Liam Adams out of working in youth clubs because "the guy denies the allegations against him."
He wasn't saying then that in 2009 his brother Liam - far from denying allegations - had instead admitted to Gerry during a walk in the rain in 2000 that he was an abuser.
Sinn Fein never sanctioned Gerry Adams for his failure in child safeguarding - or for lying about this case.
Russia spent last week murdering civilians sleeping in their homes with ballistic missiles and now the Olympics invites them back. That means the russian anthem will play at the next games. This is absolutely disgusting.
Clarification: Sky News was not at the property at 7.41am. As has already been acknowledged, and as shown in the footage from 10.19am, Sky News was outside a property where Mr Farage was registered to vote at the last election. Sky News did not interact with Mr Farage’s daughter.
On a single occasion, we approached the property without a camera operator, identified ourselves as Sky News, and the adult occupant chose not to engage. We were seeking to contact Mr Farage to ask questions about the gift he accepted from Mr Cottrell. This is a well-established and routine journalistic practice when reporting on matters of legitimate public interest.
The footage clearly demonstrates that Sky News did not “hound” or pursue Mr Farage’s daughter. At no stage did we seek to speak to anyone other than Mr Farage in connection with this story.
Russia launches a brutal terrorist bombing attack on Ukraine & hours later this vatnik degenerative👇 jokes about it.
Last election, Ireland got rid of 2 vatnik MEPs (Daly & Wallace) this scumba-ag is next 👇 make him infamous 😡
Another terrible night in Kyiv and across other Ukrainian cities after last night's massive Russian missile and drone attack.
Relieved that @Europarl_EN staff there are safe after the place where they were staying was hit.
My thoughts are with all those who lost loved ones, those who were injured, and everyone who once again was forced to spend the night under attack 🇪🇺🇺🇦
The bravery of the Ukrainian people is extraordinary.
Today I assured President @ZelenskyyUa that our EU Presidency will keep support for Ukraine at the very top of the agenda. Slava Ukraini! 🇮🇪🇺🇦🇪🇺
An honour to welcome President @ZelenskyyUa to Dublin today.
As Ireland assumes the EU Presidency, our message is very clear: Ukraine is part of our European family, and we will stand firmly with the people of Ukraine for as long as it takes. 🇮🇪🇺🇦🇪🇺
Ireland has been strongly supportive of Ukraine throughout all the years of Russia’s war against our independence. Despite the country’s neutral status, Ireland has not remained neutral in its feelings. I thanked Taoiseach @MichealMartinTD for this during our meeting in Dublin.
We discussed Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union over the next six months. During this period, Ukraine hopes to open five clusters and make substantive progress in the negotiations. We also need to take additional steps in security cooperation, primarily regarding a European anti-ballistic program.
Today, we began discussions with Ireland on cooperation in the field of drones. I proposed to Ireland our Drone Deal format, which allows for the establishment of direct and effective cooperation on the most advanced technologies tested in war.
We also discussed additional sanctions steps against Russia that could help bring a real end to this war closer. Thank you, Ireland!
My sister in law is a flight attendant and had one of the flights of Scottish World Cup fans to Boston a few weeks ago
200+ fans for 6 hours from Dublin to Boston
They consumed every drop of alcohol on board within 90 minutes of departure and were playing the bagpipes in the galley
Also said they were well mannered and never seemed very drunk
Said the white wine was the last to go (but it went)
Arrived in Ireland to take part in the opening ceremony of Ireland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. I will also meet with Taoiseach Micheál Martin and President of the European Council António Costa.
Every day, Ukraine proves that it deserves to be an equal part of our shared European home. And we hope that during Ireland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, we will be able to achieve tangible progress on the path to membership and open all negotiating clusters.
Sinn Fein is party politiking on the issue of abuse.
Deirdre Hargey raised today an issue of a perpetrator being placed in the room with a victim in the Donaldson case.
This is exactly what the IRA did to me - and one of the women who did it was at the campaign launch for their candidate Declan Lynch last week. Media should hold them to account on this. They haven't done a great job on calling out their hypocrisy to date.
Sitting in my air conditioned building, I’d like to tell you how bad air conditioning is, and how bad you should feel for using it, with the aim of getting you to use it less. After all, how can I enjoy AC knowing others also have access to it? https://t.co/eEPSXWRTJo
A note to BBC Good Morning Ulster for reading out an Irish republicans text about Jeffrey Donaldson and media reporting.
The difference with reporting on what Sinn Féin figures knew about cases linked to republicans was that the party had covered up the abuse. The DUP did not.
Gerry Adams covered up his father's abuse by giving him a full republican funeral.
He then covered up his brother's abuse of his niece for years.
He knew about my case and when it hit the public domain, he denied ever speaking about the abuse and lied through his teeth.
He knew about Paudi McGahon's case because he received a letter from his TD years before it went public.
When Michael McMonagle was arrested for abuse, Sinn Féin press officers gave him a glowing job reference.
When Niall O'Donnghaile was sending inappropriate pictures of himself to a child, the party lied about the child's age and Mary Lou Mc Donald gave him a glowing public reference.
And that does not even begin to scratch the surface of the IRA "investigations" into over 60 cases of child abuse which they ensured didn't make it to a criminal court, by covering up for the perpetrators by moving them around.
And still Sinn Féin back those who covered for perpetrators instead of standing with victims.
